The Franco-German Border “incident”
On multiple points along the Franco-German Border, what were described as “French soldiers” made hit and run attacks on border checkpoints and guards patrolling the border. The latest attack, near Saarbrücken, had German troops waiting and a prisoner was taken. He was evidently confessed that his unit was to perform attacks across their sector on the border and cause a response from German troops in the area. This has lead to the mobilization of Heer troops across the border, a ultimatum against France (the names and court martialling of all troops involved in the attacks, a DMZ along the German border on the French side and payment for the deaths and injuries of the border troops attacked) and a mobilization of French troops. The French have 2 days to answer.

French official response The French Government does not acknowledge any order to attack German boarder troops and with that said per German reports that they were discribed as French soldiers is admissable along with the confession of said prisoners with that said we dont have any reason to defend the prisoner he is all yours to prosicute and jail per your legal system and France refuses to even consider any demands of repretion as we have zero involment in the attacks. Mind you Germans we find is very oddly specific that you were incompetent enough to let this alleged French soldier March miles past your border into your city where your army was ready to apprehend him. In response to the Ultimatum border patrols and troops on the boarder are to be on a highted threat level and Germans entering and exiting are to be required to have all paperwork and reason for entering and exiting the border between France and Germany. Begin preparing for a large tank force to attack France using both all available tanks and anti tank guns also create fall back zones. Trench warfare is not going to be in question for this possible attack. Airforces are to be on high alert and armored ground targets are to be prioritized Furthermore any spare old biplanes are to be stiped of unessacary items and are to add extra fuel for use in scouting operations civilians wishing to support in any capacity in avation are to be permitted to receive Hazard pay.

Polish Turn 26 Moderation (san Operation)
As the Orzel and Grom designs aren’t yours to license, and word of you trying to has reached the ears of those that the designs belong to, you get smacked with a hefty fine.
The Grom class destroyers under construction are delayed for a turn as a result (2/1 rather than 1/1)
All new construction will be ready next turn except for the PZL 43 Karas and the semi-automatic rifles, which will be ready the turn after.
Whilst the Polish firm makes a competitive offer, the shipping cost makes it uncompetitive against the more local British firms.
Recruitment drive for the PSK has started. It hasn’t met the end goal yet though. As its so new, it doesn’t have much of a reputation, so most possible recruits are content to sit back and see how things go for now.

The Franco-German War As France refused to even consider the Ultimatum, the German Reichstag declared war on France on May 10th, 1939. That morning, units of German paratroopers landed behind enemy lines securing either road hubs, small air bases or town in anticipation for the Panzer divisions who would spearhead the attack towards Paris. By the 12th, the Alsace-Lorraine region of France was under German control and the first major battles of the war occurred, with unfavorable results for the French as while their armor, aircraft and anti-tank equipment were excellent, the coordination between each part of the military was poor and the French artillery was outdated, slowing down how fast they could be brought to the front. The continued bombings of the railway hubs and marching infantry slowed them as well. Also the amount of supplies available for the war was low due to the extensive readiness the military had been in for the past couple years. This along with the new naval budget had sapped the army of needed supplies and new small arms equipment, thus lowering the effectiveness of the equipment being used. This lead to units fighting under equipped and at a disadvantaged, which enabled Erwin Rommel's 7th division to smash thru French lines at Verdun and push on to Châlon-en-Champagne, with the additional divisions pushing as far as Sedan and Riems by the 17th. By this point, Supreme Commander Gamelin was replaced by Maxime Weygand and a new defensive plan was tried, making use of hedgehog defensive tactics. While it did slow down the center and left flank of the primary push, the right was able to continue and by the end of the month, the Germans had reached the coast and the failure to completely stopped the Germans caused the government to flee to Nantes. The continued supremacy of the Luftwaffe and German artillery enabled the infantry to push thru the Weygand line and take Paris early June. By mid June, Northern France had fallen, and the German offensive had paused as next target would be decided.

"Elections" in the East As the emergency elections in Japan come to a end, the world found that the Constitutional Democratic party lead the Diet and with former foreign minister, Kijūrō Shidehara becoming Prime Minister. As Prime Minister, he's promised to continue the reforms taking place in Korea and to stay out of other nation’s conflicts unless they will effect Japan and her people.
In China, conflict brews once again as the graduate decline of popularity in the Kuomintang has resulted in the formation of Reorganized Republic of China. Headed by Li Zongren and based in Guangxi, the regime has the support of other warlords and claims to be the true successor of the republic originally founded by Sun Yat-sen.
