Turn 1: Major Ishmael
Intelligence Operations:
Begin investigating the light freighter "Millenium Falcon," reported to be near the Death Star in the days leading up to its destruction. Begin with ship registry information, movement activities of the ship, and any traces of past ownership or possible law enforcement citations.
Consult with security databases to find Empire-friendly underworld connections that may be persuaded to give intelligence about Rebel activity. Information on the movement, ownership, and history of the Millenium Falcon will be deeply appreciated as well.
Requisitions:
From local sector forces: 2 IGV-55 surveillance ships to be placed under direct ISB control to step up ELINT activities.
From higher ISB offices: Additional official slicer talent for electronic surveillance activities. Persuade them with the fact that Colonel Yularen is dead, and that Major Reynauld would like to do his part in avenging the death of an upstanding officer and dear mentor.
From the open market: 4 Non-Imperial Standard civilian shuttlecraft/light freighters, for discrete movement of ISB assets without rousing external suspicion. All purchased ships must be thoroughly inspected for possibility of dead man's switches and eavesdropping devices.

Turn 1
Colonel Grogas Vuugerm (Canadian)
Between your enthusiasm for work, excessive greed in acquiring hardware and sending reports to officers Missing Presumed Dead, the powers that be in Imperial High Command have decided to assign you to a more active place of work. Namely Tao.
Commodore leRoy (Delta)
Messages are sent. Maybe.
A Gozanti class assault carrier with four TIE/ln fighters are made available to you, and will be available in a month, due to provisioning and the need to work up from the refit the ship is currently in.
Major Ishamel (Zhehao)
Your search request into the “Millenium Falcon” will be finished in 4 to 6 business years. It’s a big galaxy, with lots of freighters, after all…
You are able to acquire the services of one IGV-55, as Naboo is a quiet system, and the last major incident (the assassination of Moff Panaka) was caused by outside forces (The Partisans).
The Directorate of the ISB will respond to your request … eventually. There are many requests for personnel, in light of recent events, and resources are stretched thin.
The light freighter market is quite busy of late, so you’re only able to afford two light freighters, a YT-1250 and an Allanar N3. They are, at least, in reasonable condition and free of dead-man switches and listening devices.
Tao
Tao is one of a number of worlds on the fringe of the Republic that has subsequently joined the Empire, seeking to use Imperial technology to help it’s society advance. This came at the cost of it’s resources and trading resource rights for Imperial technology and industries.
Unfortunately, as the nature of the Empire’s approach became more felt, more reservations started to be felt as to whether the arrangement with the Empire was worthwhile. Ultimately, these views would clash with those in favour of the progress the process offered, even at the cost of their culture and planet’s environment. The two camps are referred to as the Traditionalists and the Modernists, though other terms are also used, depending on the author of the work in question.
Matters came to a head when an Imperial facility was bombed, leading to the drawing up of sides. Whilst the majority of the people of Tao are as yet neutral, the Traditionalists have a larger body of support, and the Modernists have the backing of the Empire. It is not Imperial policy to become too heavily embroiled in such Civil disputes as this, they do traditionally support whichever side is most beneficial to them. These are not the most usual of times, however…

The dropships charged through space approaching the planets atmosphere at high speed. The engines making their distinct low humming noise that imperial transports had become infamous for. Although not as distinct as the high pitched whine of the Tie Fighter, the sight of 4 sentinels was enough to make even the most stalwart of foes take pause as it meant that Imperial troops were about to make landfall. The dropships flew in tight formation flying in line ahead formation as they hit the planets atmosphere. Making a hard turn to port the drop ships nimbly shifted into a line abreast formation. Not an easy maneuver given how much force was being exerted on the craft as they breached the atmosphere. Inside the craft, the occupants held on as well as they could as the craft bucked and jolted in every direction. Inside, the Army troops could only see the fires from the friction generated by the atmosphere dancing around the viewports. The Sentinels made one final turn to starboard as they entered their final approach. The interior of the cabin were flooded with light as the fire and darkness outside gave way to natural sunlight. The troopers inside knew they were only seconds from touchdown.
On the planet below, Colonel Gavin watched the approach through his optics. He carefully judged every move the pilots made during their approach. Their movement was almost perfect...almost. Gavin of course knew that perfection was not attainable. But he would pursue it none the less because in their pursuit of perfection, they would acquire excellence. The flight of dropships made a low pass over the trees coming down precisely on the landing zone. The pilots did not bother deploying their landing gear as there was not point. Less than a meter off the ground the craft hovered as platoons of infantry stormed out of them. A sprint down the gangways followed by a short hop and off they went. In a matter of seconds, all platoons had cleared the craft and were moving off to form their perimeter around the LZ. The Sentinels quickly lifted off and made a break for orbit bobbing and weaving as they went. The insertion was intended to be quick in order to maintain the element of surprise. But on exit the pilots took evasive action to avoid hostile ground fire. Gavin watched the sentinels for only a few seconds before they disappeared from sight. Gavin turned to the rest of his staff and instructed Major Adal to send the next wave.
"The boys look pretty good out there Colonel" said Major Adal.
Gavin nodded in agreement. "They better, we have been running these orbital insertion drills for the past month. Who is coming down next?"
Major Adal without looking as his information display said "Dune Company, Captain Steele."
"Steele is the one with that new platoon commander correct?"
"Yes sir, just arrived a few days ago with the rest of our replacements"
As the Drop ships made the turn into their final approach, coming from a different vector from the first, Gavin walked out into the middle of the LZ. The transport carrying the fresh recruits was coming down practically on top of him. Gavin braced himself so the jet wash from the thrusters did not throw him backwards. The ramp opened and less than a meter off the ground he effortlessly grabbed hold and charged up the ramp into the unsuspecting drop ship. The first man had only just started moving towards the ramp when Gavin appeared in the doorway. The first man was the new lieutenant who had just taken command. Grabbing the young officer by his breastplate, he forced the man backwards into a jump seat.
"Alright your officers dead! What do you do!?" Gavin shouted as he pointed at the man immediately behind the officer. The Platoon Sergeant was an experienced soldier but he had been caught completely off guard by the Colonels unexpected action. Gavin quickly grabbed the Sergeant and pushed him back none to gently into the seat behind him.
"He hesitated, he's dead! What do you do?" Gavin shouted at the next man in line. This time the young corporal quickly replied "get off the drop ship". Gavin motioned for the men to move out and the troops quickly filed off the drop ship. Some of them landing on the ground like a sack of potatoes as the drop ship had just begun its exit maneuver. Rather than falling 2 feet off the ground, the last man in line fell 2 meters. Gavin new he would be fine but he mused to himself how surprised the troops would have been by the fall. Gavin felt the dropship shudder under him as it accelerated back into space. Gavin turned to the young lieutenant who was visibly shaken.
"Sssorry Sir..."
"Sorry? For what? You got hit son, nothing you can do about that. Your leading this platoon. It's your job to make sure the men know exactly what to do even when you are not around. Make sure every person in your units knows the job of the man below them and the man above them in rank. When we finally see action, men will die."
Gavin patted the lieutenant on the shoulder before moving up to the cockpit. He called a halt to the training exercise and ordered the pilot to take them back down. Today the men had secured an LZ. Tomorrow his tanks were going to exploit

Turn 2: Commodore LeRoy: "Commodore, sir, I....I dont understand, why are we not going after the cowards that destroyed the Death Star and Alderaan?" "Son, the fleet needs time. And right now that's the one thing we have plenty of, time. I learned something in my time as a young trainee, 'Practice makes you calm, being calm makes you smooth, being smooth makes you precise, and being precise makes you fast, and being fast keeps you and your wingman alive.' I know why they gave me this fleet, of fresh graduates and old reservists, I've been out of the 'game' for a while now and the fleet has changed, and not for the better. Too much focus on looking fearsome and not enough on actively being fearsome. We need to change, to become the force the Galaxy needs, no, demands us to be once more. Thats why we are not just rushing headlong into the teeth of the Krayt Dragon." "Yes Sir. I'll have the new training roster posted. My apolo-" "Do not apologize, you had a legitimate concern, and you addressed it before it could cause issue. That's the sign of a good, logical, mature approach. My old Admiral once told me that apologizing meant that you didn't stand behind what you said or did. Spread this, stand behind what you say and do. Even if you have failed, stand behind it and do better next time. Failure is just as good a teacher as success, better even cause you now know what doesn't work. Get to it Ensign." *Snapping to attention, sound of boot heels clicking together* "Yes Sir, Thank you Sir" - excerpt from bridge recorder of ISD Reciprocity, Commodore LeRoy and Ensign Mara Walsh (Jr duty officer)

Turn 2
Colonel Grogas Vuugerm (Canadian)
Your forces are scattered across the planet in small groups, with the Col himself being at the now repaired Imperial Base.
The Imperial Security Bureau detachment on the planet is working still, having acquired an IGV-55 ship for their use, as well as their Raider II class corvette. A mixture of offworlders already in service of the ISB and natives who are sympathetic to the stated Imperial aims, they disagree with your methods, in particular Colonel Ochō, now recovered from the injuries sustained during the bombing and it’s aftermath. In particular, they claim that sinking resources into the system is the opposite of what is needed at the present time.
Given the lack of air presence, your request for more TIE/ln Fighters is rejected. Given that 5 Battalions is more than your current frontline strength (4 Battalions), that request is also rejected, however a counter offer of exchanging 1 Tank Battalion for a Foot Battalion has been made.
Further Imperial bases have been started across the planet, being built by slave labour and your forces.
Local recruitment initiatives fail miserably.
Colonel Gavin Thorne (Windhover)
Permission is granted, with the Task Force being integrated into Commodore leRoy’s naval force. However, whilst preparing to leave, Col Thorneis to remain on Wayland for the time being.
Rumour has it that the new force will not be used for combating the Rebellion, but as part of Supreme General Tagge’s undeclared war on the criminal underworld.
Commodore leRoy (Delta)
The Gozanti class will rendezvous with the rest of the Task Force at Wayland.
The Task Force will arrive at Wayland next turn.
Rumour has it that the new force will not be used for combating the Rebellion, but as part of Supreme General Tagge’s undeclared war on the criminal underworld.
Tao
With the arrival of Colonel Vuugerm, the planet has effectively been occupied by the Empire. However, the Imperial presence is largely centred on the cities, and even then is fairly thin, with very limited foot presence outside of their partially built compounds.
The citizens of Tao have quickly come to fear the Imperial troopers, as they conduct nightly raids, with at least one dead resident, whether they were guilty of any crime or not.
The Yasaburō clan are well regarded on Tao, an ancient family of good standing. Even they are not immune to the divisions that are affecting Taon society, with some members siding with the Empire, and others the planet. An Imperial assault on the family compound in the city near the Imperial Headquarters met without success, the compound being found abandoned. As a senior member of the clan, Colonel Ochō has taken up residence there, to be used as a base of operations for people who share her beliefs in a future where the Empire and Tao can work together for a brighter future.
Thwarted in that, Colonel Vuugerm personally oversaw the execution of other prisoners by 2-M Repulsor tanks, the vehicles blasting them from polite distance. In enforcing the mandatory viewing by the denizens of the city, other compounds across the planet were left undermanned, with one being found abandoned upon the return of those who had been away. Scorch marks scar the half built walls, though no bodies are found, nor are any supplies…

“Sir, your tea.” “Thank you crewman. (Sound of sipping) Excellent brew job on the brewing.” “Thank you sir.” (Sound of crewman walking away) (Few minutes of background chatter and intermittent sipping, sound of boot heels on the decking) “Commander Ralth, what can I do for you?” “The readiness reports for the Stormtrooper Battalion, as requested. And the work ups on the suggested flight leaders for the Tie squadrons.” “Excellent. Tell me Jacob, what do you think of our current orders?” “You mean the lack of them Sir? Its concerning, that some Moff, Admiral or General hasn’t ordered us to some glory project, which means someone has a plan for us. And that person has the clout to keep the Karkarodons at bay.” “My thoughts exactly. I thought that Tommen would have something for us, but time will tell. Spread the word, Commander, our time for action will come. Dismissed” “Sir” (Sound of boots on the deck plating, final sip of tea, and a muttered phrase) ‘Tommen said that he called in a favor from Tagge. Turn 3
Colonel Grogas Vuugerm (Canadian)
Your requests for chemical and biological weapons are not approved, and Supreme General Tagge is beginning to grow concerned…
The relentless pace of operations continues, with mistakes starting to creep in. Local forces seem disinclined to help, preferring the company of the ISB to the Army. Attrition continues to eat away at your resources, with few replacements coming in, either in terms of personnel or vehicles.
Commodore leRoy (Delta)
The newly united forces make all speed for Wayland, where they spend the rest of the month doing exercises.
Your request for escorts is denied, the reasoning given being that your existing forces should be sufficient for that purpose.
At the end of the month, word reaches you that your next assignment is hunting down the Hidden Hand crime syndicate, arriving with a Raider II class corvette which you get to help you in your undertaking.

"Open Fire!" Rapid bursts of blaster fire soon followed as an orchestra of super heated plasma sliced through the air. The Storm Troopers from the 212ths lined up along the fire line blazing away with their blasters. One trooper nearly fell over backwards from the recoil as he laid into it firing full auto. Colonel Gavin Thorne stood off to the side watching the travesty unfold before him. He had heard rumors that the Storm Trooper Corp had become lax in its standards but he was not aware of the true extent of the problem. Gavin now understood why Commodore LeRoy wanted him to put his troopers through their paces. Gavin gestured towards the range master and gave him the signal to stop. "Cease Firing! Cease Fire on the fire line!" Looking down range, the targets painted a sad story. More than half of the shots fired had missed completely and most of the ones that did hit were either at the edge of the target. The groupings were virtually non existent on most of the targets. The range master looked down at the ground, a look of disgust on his face. Gavin's facial expressions showed no emotion at all. He turned towards the range master, "I suppose we should be grateful they are all firing on the same direction""Couldn't have put it better myself sir" the range master nodding in agreement. "Resume firing Sergeant. Have your people watch each man closely. Looks like we are going back to basic marksmanship ""Ready weapons! Aim! Fire!"As the troopers resumed firing, Gavin walked up and down the firing line observing them closely. The cadre were doing their job taking corrective action where needed. One trooper was firing his weapon emptying power pack after power pack failing to hit the target each time. "Your blowing through all your ammo trooper, fire slow and you might hit something" "Its not my fault sir, this stupid rifle is messed up!" Gavin grabbed the rifle from the trooper and stepped up to the firing line. He took careful aim down the sights and pulled the trigger. What happened next surprised everyone, Gavin the most. The first shot to the target went wide right. Gavin attempted to compensate but the next shot went wide right and down left. Finally his 3rd shot went wide left and up nearly going over the target. Gavin himself had an expert marksman rating and had been at the range just the day before. His groupings had been tight and his accuracy dead on. He should not have missed like he just did. Gave lifted an arm into the air giving the range master the signal to stop firing again. The noise around the range died down and Gavin turned to address the trooper. "When was the last time you calibrated your weapons targeting system trooper?" The trooper hesitated for a moment. Even through his white helmet, Gavin could sense his confusion. "We were told it was self calibrating sir...they told us at the academy were not supposed to touch our scopes computer system..." That little revelation hit Gavin like a bag of bricks. The E-11 blaster was a marvel of modern engineering. It featured its own gyro stabilization system. The scopes built in targeting computer was supposed to assist the trooper in acquiring targets and compensating for recoil. But if left uncalibrated they had a tendency to fire widely. If the system was malfunctioning, even the best sniper could not hit what he was aiming at. Gavin removed the power cell from the blaster, set it to save and moved off the firing line. "Fall in!"
It took the troopers a moment to form ranks but soon enough, the men were standing in neat single file lines all facing Gavin. Gavin lifted his weapon over his head and showed it to the entire company. "This is a good blaster. TK-469 has kept is clean, no wear and tear. But I would not let my life depend on it. Now, I want every man in this unit to take his weapon over to the armory. Have my technicians calibrate each and every weapon in this whole battalion. Nobody is allowed to fire another blaster bolt until ALL weapons are brought up to acceptable parameters. Move out!"
Outside the main compound, a line of storm troopers were digging a trench. Their usually white armor now stained with the brown of the dirt they were shoveling. Even the storm troopers officers with their orange shoulder pauldron's were down in the ever widening ditch. Major Adal walked the line making sure every man was digging as hard as they could. They had pushed the storm troopers for a month never letting up on them. Constant drills, exercises and tactical problems were the order of the day. Every man in the entire battalion had been run ragged until they dropped and then dragged on by those who had not dropped yet. Any trooper who passed out was given immediate medical aid. It was ok to pass out, but any trooper that stopped on purpose would enter a new layer of hell they knew not existed. Adal had to admit, the Colonels methods had been extreme. But with only a few weeks to do what takes far longer, such methods were necessary. To their credit, the Storm Troopers had taken their lessons to well. Although there were still some lessons that they had not taken to heart... "Major, this all seems unnecessary." Major Adal turned to face the voice and found a Storm Trooper officer before him. His orange shoulder pauldron indicating his status as an officer in the corp. Had he been a regular trooper, Adal would have given the man a fine dressing down. But here he saw an opportunity to make a point. Perhaps teach a lesson to this officer that may save some of his men later. "Its always useful to have good cover in a combat situation commander" "We have armor...and we have mobile shield emitters. Why dig a trench when we can simply deploy cover? Save us some sweat". "That armor only lessens the impact of being shot. And nothing stops enemy fire like good old terra firma. Once you finish digging, deploy the shield emitters in front of the trench line. Double your protection. Double your life expectancy" "Yeah? Says who?" The contempt in the Storm Troopers voice was palpable. It was no secret that most officers felt that manual labor was beneath them. This was even a problem that existed in the Army for to one extent or another. But Colonel Thorne had instilled in every man regardless of rank the value of a hard days work. "Experience, that's who. In any case, sweat saves blood. Blood saves lives and brains will save both. If you want to win battles and survive, you need to work harder than your enemy, move faster and think smarter. Get back in your hole commander, we got more digging to do before tonight's tactical problem. As the storm trooper climbed back into the trench, Adal heard his headset que up. "All senior officers report to the briefing room" From there everything happened quickly. The Brigade had received its orders to mount up and move up. They would be embarking with task force Reciprocity and reinforcing their ground contingent. The brigade was loaded onto the Acclamator. Lines of armored vehicles drove up the great ramps leading into the belly of the beast. Troopers scrambled to gather was personal belongings they could. Items deemed too large to take with were placed into storage where it would be kept safe by rear echelon units. Items that the soldiers didn't want stolen were stashed into hidden compartments or simply mailed home to loved ones. As the last of the transports took off and proceeded into orbit, Major Adal found Colonel Thorne standing by the last dropship on the planet. "Are all of our men accounted for Major?" "We are the last ones out sir" "Very well. Take us to the flagship. Time to report to Commodore LeRoy"
Embark the Brigade.
Officially join up with task force Reciprocity.
