Turn 8 Part 2
Vrogas Vas
The fleet settles down into a geosynchronous orbit of the planet, once the required calculations have been made, in a loaded front with a distant tail.
The Gozanti class Little Nudge takes position far away above the northern pole of the planet.
All squadrons of Reciprocity’s force proper have been launched, milling around their allotted zones.
Efforts to locate and communicate with the downed gunships are ongoing, though the odds are not looking good…
Preparations are underway from the complement of Implacable for a combat drop. They should be ready to go within the next phase.
Long range scans are underway to identify possible targets, though it’s an ongoing process, without any Probe Droids or ships aiding in the process.

Turn 9
Colonel Thorne stood in front of the cadre of officers before him. It had been a while since he delivered a briefing like this. He took a breath before beginning. The room darkened and the holographic projector before him came to life.
Operation Backhand
Introduction:
The goal of this operation is simple. To invade Vrogas Vas and eliminate the rebel presence on the surface. This will be a large-scale deployment utilizing all space and ground assets available to Task Force Reciprocity. The operation will be conducted in phases. In order to achieve success the ground forces will have to maintain a high tempo of operation and be prepared to adapt to anything. At present, the disposition of the enemy forces is uncertain. We know of at least 1 squadron of enemy fighter’s is active. The fact that we have detected no enemy units leaving the planet indicates that there is at least a small rebel base on the planet’s surface. We should expect heavy resistance.
Phase 1:
In the absence of traditional probe units, the first priority is obtaining solid intelligence on the enemy forces. To that end, Tie Interceptor squadrons will be deployed to make low level passes over the planet. Using their limited sensors and visual scanning to identify possible enemy positions. Simultaneously, 1st Scouting Troop of the 327th Brigade will be deployed to the planet’s surface. The Scout troopers will divide up by platoon and use their speeder bikes to reconnoiter the surface of the planet. Scout units from the 212th battalion will also be deployed along with the scout trooper company from Colonel Vuugerms brigade. These scout units will coordinate with the air reconnaissance to locate the rebel units. Scout troopers will also paint targets for orbital bombardment. Any rebel fortifications will be marked for orbital strike to coincide with the main landing force.
Phase 2:
Upon locating the main body of rebel forces. The fleet in orbit will begin systematically destroying targets marked by the scout units. Targets of opportunity will also be hit as they pop up. Tie Bombers will also make bombing runs against rebel forces focusing on enemy installations then moving onto vehicles and troops formations. The bombers will be escorted by Tie Fighters with Tie Interceptors performing interdiction missions against enemy craft. Once the Landing Zones are clear of enemy forces, Phase 3 will begin.
Phase 3:
The main assault will be led by the 212th battalion. The 212th will secure the initial LZ and defend against possible rebel counter attacks. The 212th will be followed immediately by RCT 1 of the 327th Brigade. They will land almost immediately after the 212th hits the ground. Colonel Vuugerms Brigade will follow as soon as the 327th has cleared the LZ. RCT 1 of the 327th, reinforced by a company of AT-ATs from the 212ths will then assault into the rebel compound and punch a hole into any defense the rebels mount. The 212th will follow behind the 327th and protect both flanks. At the same time, RCT 1 from Colonel Vuugerms Brigade will advance alongside the 327th and attempt to flank the rebel forces. The 327th and 212th will attempt to seize the alliance headquarters and secure any intelligence that may be present. Colonel Vuugerms brigade will attempt to secure any hangers or airfields present and capture/destroy any alliance craft on the ground. Once the skies have been cleared of alliance fighters, the Implacable will penetrate the planet’s atmosphere and provide direct support to the ground forces. RCT 2 of the 327th will be held in reserve onboard the Implacable itself. RCT 2 of Colonel Vuugerms Brigade will maintain a perimeter around the Landing Zone and protect supporting assets. Artillery will be deployed and be available to support the advance. Any remaining Tie Bombers will also be under the direction of ground forces and direct their fire accordingly in direct support of the assault.
"That's it gentlemen. That's the vague concept we are shooting for. If everything meets with your approval kick off should be in less than two hours. That ought to give everyone enough time to brief their troops. Good luck everybody. And good hunting".

Turn 8 Part 3
Vrogas Vas
From orbit, the twelve TIE/Int of the 907th Fighter Squadron (the ‘Flying Hogs’) leave their previously allocated positions near the Imperial Star Destroyer Reciprocity and begin a rapid descent into atmosphere. Not too fast, of course, they wouldn’t want to rip themselves to pieces, but it was a hair raising experience, the cockpit contents shaking as they made their way down past the Executrix to begin their low level sweeps of the planet’s surface.
The scouting forces of the 327th Brigade & BBHth Brigade have deployed from their Assault Ships, to begin skimming the surface Vrogas Vas. They would find the crash sites, with only wounded men of the 1st Company 212th Btn to be found other than wreckage and the dead. A more interesting site would also be found, of a sizable number of dead rebels, whilst others would report a partially scavenged TIE of unknown model and provenance.
With so much ground to cover, it should come as no surprise that multiple possibles were identified.
Whenever the order to bombard from orbit was given, the words seemed to stick in the throat of whoever tried to speak them, as if stopped by a dark, malicious force. Fortunately, with so much of the planet’s surface being empty space, or nothing worth considering per Imperial regulations, the actual landing phase of the Operation goes off with no more than the expected problems, all minor and workable…

Turn 8 part 4:
Commodore LeRoy looks at the Holo-table in confusion, he hadn’t felt the touch of the Force since the Clone Wars and it had never felt that foreboding back then. “Lt Masters get me a comm line to all senior officers on the planet. We may have a situation on our hands.” “Yes sir. You want me to patch the Captain of the Executrix in as well?” “Yes, might as well get him up to speed.” -Moments after the landing operation had begun, after his attempt to order the covering bombardment.

Turn 8 Part 4
Vrogas Vas
Was it The Force, or was it just a lump in his throat?
The Captain of the Executrix turned out to be a woman, you sexist pig. She also informs you of success for Executrix’s fighter squadrons against rebel bombers, and of their own ground force’s efforts towards a target location. Commander Karbin is revealed to be on the ground, having deployed via shuttle complete with Death Troopers. However, there had been little communications with him since, though as the troopers had their orders that didn’t matter so much…
The landing forces hold position, setting up a defensive perimeter.
