Old World in Crisis The old world is being shaken by historic divides and new technology. New powers are on the rise, but can they take advantage of the opportunity? Apply below, and see for yourself!
World Map
(Provide a qualitative and/or quantitative description of each of these. You can be as descriptive as you like. Obviously, more informative descriptions will be more readily accepted, and make the game more interesting, but there is no requirement for length or intricacy. Specific sections have specific rules) Country Name: (Self Explanatory)
Flag: (Self Explanatory)
Power Status: (Are you a great power, rising power, or minor power)
Government Structure: (How is your government structured? Think of the three branches of the U.S. government as being an example. How are the executive, legislative, and judicial functions encapsulated in your government?)
Politics: (How do things really run? Is there a predominantly criminal element in the running of your country? Are there military cliques? Does the nobility have sway, or is the will of the masses in control? Even if you are an absolute monarchy with significant military control, you may be subject to the influence of major newspapers and religious authorities.)
Society: (Describe the character of your society. Is there a large middle-class that dominate the domestic market? Is there minority groups heavily persecuted against? Do dairy farmers hold great societal value? How is society made up in your nation? Describe the control of wealth, influence and power between major demographic groups (identity groups/class groups/labor groups/etc) in your nation.)
Culture(s): (Describe the high culture, and the general culture(s) of your nation. The high culture are your classics: Is your nation famous for its fine paintings and orchestras? What brings the bourgeois and high society out in the evenings? Now, the general culture(s) are the cultural groups that make up your nation? Think in terms of groups like Germans, Mandarin, Polynesians, and Romani. They can be defined by ethnicity, religion, or whatever else. This is important for solidifying the demographics of your nation.)
Academia: (This is more of a catch-all term for your technology level, the level of your universities, and overall education/literacy of your nation. If your nation leads in steam-technology, lacks in farmer literacy, or has great humanities departments, this is the section to put it in.)
Economy: (What is your economy driven by? Is it an autarky, or trade-based? Are your major exports agriculture goods (this should be a major one for most of you) or industrial goods? What areas do you excel in and what areas do you lag? Is your economy made up of major corporations, state companies, or many many small businesses/local owners?)
Resources: (What are the major/numerous resources that are present in your nation and colonies?)
Infrastructure: (Describe the extent of your infrastructure. Do you have major trade ports and civilian shipyards? Great big oil refineries? A massive rail network? Or simply dirt roads, and town-centric businesses. This requires a single, simple sentence, summarizing the entirety of your infrastructure at the end of the description.)
Army: (Describe the extent of your Army. You may give a qualitative description, but you’re required to give a quantitative description as well. We need to know the extent of your ground forces, infantry and cavalry, the weapons they use, the extent of your armories and forts, and anything else you deem relevant.)
Navy: (Describe the extent of your Navy. You may give a qualitative description, but you’re required to give a quantitative description as well. Describe the number of relevant ships, whether they be ironclads, armored cruisers, or ships of the line. Any relevant shipyards and coaling outposts are also required to be put in here. )
World Map: (Please outline your nation, its colonies, and relevant trading/coaling outposts on the world map)
(There will be no history section. There will be no diplomatic section. You should know: Great powers should only limit themselves to the limits (Navy/Army/Economy/etc. wise) of great powers in the 1870s-1880s, such as Great Britain and France. Rising powers should limit themselves to the limits of rising powers in 1870s, such as Prussia and USA. Minor powers, you know what to do.) (If you desire to use real-life ship classes, weapons, technologies, or organizations as reference for your items, just link it under you names. Ie. You have two Garus-Class ironclads in your fleet. Which I have linked to the Admiral-Class ironclad. No matter whether you use your own tech designs, you link historical designs, or just use general descriptions for your tech, YOU ARE LIMITED TO TECHNOLOGY THAT WAS DESIGNED BY 1884.)
Great powers must limit themselves to having some part of their home nation within this area. It doesn't have to be their entire nation, but it most be part of the home nation. It cannot be a colony or outpost.
There can only be three great powers and two minor powers. There is no limit to minor powers. First accepted, gets it.

The Prior chambers - The Second level under the supreme leader, all the countires basic law passages pass through the Prior Chambers, this can be seen as smiliar to the Senate in other countries, with the only Caveat being the Supreme Rossiayn can Veto/kill Bills and laws at his discretion as well as appoint and remove Priors only with the blessing of the Rossiyan Judicial. Rossiyan Judicial - Handles all Judicial matters including disputes between the Supreme Rossiyan and Prior Chambers on bills and laws the Supreme Rossiyan isnt in agreement with. The Rossiyan Judicial also handles criminal matters and basis punishment on crimes on severity, while the defendant doesnt face a jury of his peers, they a jury of Juducial appointees who determine guilt or innocence and impose sanctions/punishments based on the crime severity as well as the standing of the convict. Most crimes are resolved with death sentences to lessen the likliness of repeat events. for the criminals spared death. they are subject to labour sentences on farms across the nation to help keep the country fed, as these workers are prisoners they do not earn a living and after their sentence the farm has the option to buy the criminal as a slave. Politics: Politics are dictated by the Supreme Rossiyan, as there is no opposition party, opposers are usually charged with treason and executed, opposition is viewed as a weakness as many Rossiyans expect total obedience to the Supreme Rossiyan. Society: militaristic, Imperial leanings, lacking a middle class with a very well off high class society and a low end Third class society. Farmers are government subsidized to keep the country fed. the government will provide Prison workers for the criminals lucky enough to avoid the death penalty, at the end of their sentences, farmers have the options to buy the criminal as a slave. Culture(s): Rossiyan culture places a high value on the homeland and on family, "The Hegemony rule left its impression on the culture, creating a fundamental fear and mistrust of those outside the family, extended family and other close familial connections. The Nation is very much Isolationist but also expanionist, while it doesnt care for outside influence, it does seek to expand it's borders at the expense of neighbors territories. Academia: Rossiyan Higher Education In the last half-century of imperial rule. Rossiya developed a system of higher education marked by diversity and, especially in the 1805–1817 period, by rapid growth. Between 1697 and 1814, the proportion of the student-aged cohort attending some form of institution of higher education increased markedly. Furthermore, the ratio of higher-education enrollments to enrollments in primary and secondary education remained at its historically high level. at this point rossiya is on par with techs of the current age, however they are lacking behind in the delevelopment of electric submarines. and have seen little success in this endeavor. another point is ship building, Rossiya is about five years behind it's other rivals in shipbuilding practices. Economy: autarky. Trade with like minded countries as well as pillaging of nearby smaller nations. Resources: major resources of iron, wood, coal, farmlands, nickel belts, likely gold belts in northern regions near The Prehistoric Rossiyan volcanic traps. copper and other various minerals and metals as well as silver. Infrastructure: Over 28 private and company-owned and 7 state-owned iron factories, one state-owned and two company-owned copper plants,. Country Name: Kingdom of Elfrieden Flag:
Power Status: Great Power Population: 91,080,345 Government Structure: Royal:This is the seat of the King or Queen of the Kingdom, from where law, order, and the future of the Kingdom are managed. As the Kingdom of Elfrieden is a fledgeling Constitutional Monarchy, the Ruler of the country still maintains the lion's share of power. Legislative: This is the ring of government where the House of Commons and the House of Lords sit, making up the totality of Parliament. The legislative branch is responsible for creation of law, managing the national budget, and acting as a check against Royal overreach or Judicial misconduct. Judicial: This is both the upper and lower courts and the law enforcement agencies and offices of the nation, from the smallest local sheriff, to the Royal Marshals, responsible for bringing the worst of society to justice.
Politics: The Kingdom of Elfrieden made the recent transition to a Constitutional Monarchy, within the last 15 years, under the previous King. The creation of the middle class, and a growing population in the lower classes led the last King to agree to the ratification of a new Constitution, securing the rights of the common citizen and creation of the house of Commons. All of these events have led to an interesting, albeit slow, shift in the power dynamic of the country. The nobility has taken to this with a wary eye, but time has, so far, shown it to be a good choice.
Society: The Kingdom is a nation of many different walks of life, the interactions between the upper class, the middle class and the working class are evening out. There is still some tension in the overall goings on, but the day to day is becoming less tense.
Culture: The Kingdom places emphasis on old traditions, such as valuing Family, God, and Country. Since the foundation of the kingdom and the founding of the colonies, more virtues have found their way into the Kingdom's traditional values. Service to others, honesty, and some slightly less obvious traits, all leading to the motto of those in the service of the Kingdoms various Legions: Prospice futura et vide facultates, sed attende ad praesens, et alios umbras speculare.
Academia: Every child in the Kingdom goes to a basic and secondary level of education from the age of six to fourteen. Intermediate and advanced levels of education are offered to those with the interest and means to afford the tuition to the city colleges or the national universities. If a citizen of a lower class can not afford to attend, a job/scholarship program is in place to pay for advanced education in exchange for a 1:1 service, depending on the field of education chosen.
Economy: Trade based, mostly from agriculture and finished goods (furniture, metal work, and civilian shipping). Most of the major corporations are owned by nobility and wealthy merchants, but in recent years smaller, middle and working class companies have opened up to serve the inter-kingdom trade and transport while the larger companies and corporations handle the external trade. The split as of now is 60:40.
Resources: Due to the varied regions of the Kingdom, the resources range from glass made with the sands from the Tau’nor region, to the wood from the towering RedWoods of the eastern mountains. The Kingdom has no shortage of resources, due to its vast variety of climate, but its most notable resources are its large iron, oil, and coal deposits in its mountains, and the bounty of its large farms.
Infrastructure: The Kingdom has seven major cities with a population over 4,980,000 in total between all seven cities and all seven are on the sea, as such they act as major ports for trade, and the Royal Navy. The streets in and near the cities are well maintained, while further out you go, the streets go from clean, neat asphalt roads (the height of road technology) to stone Toll-Pikes into hard packed dirt in the farthest reaches of the mountains and islands. Alongside the road network, a rail network sprawls across the various lands of the Kingdom, linking the major cities together and to the various minor cities and towns. A majority of the factories needed to feed the kingdom's citizenry, and the military, are located near the cities on the outskirts.
Army: Royal Land Forces: 127 Legions: 1,128,000 (Active and Reserve) Standing Legions: 28 Legions (280,000 Troops) Standing legions represent the mobile forces of the Kingdom, able to be sent where the Kingdom needs them. Barracks Corps: 52 Legions (520,000 Troops) Barracks corps are the culmination of the forces deployed to the colonies and frontier fortresses. Marine Corps: 8 Legions (40,000 Marines) Known as the King’s Fist, the Marine Corps represents both the pride of the nation, and the tip of the spear in times of war. They are deployed in every port, as the garrison and aboard the Navy’s cruisers and larger vessels. Royal Black Watch: 5 Legions (10,000 Members) The Royal Black Watch is the First, Last and greatest line of defense for the Royal family. There is one legion for each of the four Royal residences, and one that is broken down into smaller formations to protect the King, his immediate family and some of the extended family. Reserve Legions: 34 Legions (340,000 troops) Exactly what it sounds like, the ready reserve to reinforce the Standing Legions or Barracks Corps. Navy: Royal Naval Forces: 193 ships Ironclad: Prince Consort class Ironclad - 14 in service - none ordered Royal Oak class Ironclad - 14 in service - none ordered Ship of the Line: Duke Class 131 Gun First Rate - 4 in service - none ordered Queen class 110 Gun Second Rate - 8 in service - none ordered Frigate: Thames class 32 gun Fifth rate Frigate - 19 in service - none ordered Minerva class 38 gun Fifth rate Frigate - 21 in service- none ordered Cruisers: Armored: Imperious Armored Cruiser - 15 built - 5 under construction - 5 on order Destroyer: Lighting class Torpedo Boat - 15 built - 10 under construction - on 22 order Monitor: Cyclops class Coastal Monitor - 12 built - 4 under construction - 2 order Sloop: Osprey class 60 in service - none ordered The Royal navy is currently in a rebuilding cycle, pulling older sailing ships out of service as newer vessels enter. Up till now, the Royal navy has relied on faster sailing ships, natural bottle necks, and superior gunnery training to best opponents, but with time and technology advancing, it is time for an overhaul of the fleet. Nation Map: The white circles are the major cities of the Kingdom, the dots matching the color of the area are minor cities. The Dark red dots are major naval bases and the purple dots are major Army bases. Teal dots are minor naval bases, serving as resupply points. All cities have ports capable of servicing naval vessels of all sizes. Black: Main Kingdom Territory Blue: Crionesia (Tournic) Island chain Green: Rigen (Mao’i) (small island) Rigen (Taor) (large island) Pink: Merinesia (Fi’ Naur) Island chain Red: Zebwanaia (Ferric) Islands

Usean Empire
Flag: Red Cross over a white field with a soaring eagle in upper left quadrant Power Status: Great Government: Federal Constitutional Monarchy. The Legislature is a Parliament system with an upper and lower house. The Federal Council is the upper house. Its members consist of representatives appointed to their seats by the constituent states forming the empire. The Federal Council has the power to veto all bills proposed by the lower house. It is responsible for enacting laws passed by Parliament, creating administrative regulations, and identifying and correcting deficiencies in federal oversight. The constitution does not provide for a constitutional court. Instead limited judicial powers are granted to the Federal Council allowing them to act as arbitrators on all matters of constitutional law. All declarations of war require the consent of the Federal Council. The Imperial Diet is the lower house of parliament. Its members are elected by popular vote to four-year terms. The Diet has the power to propose legislation as well as create a Federal Budget. Military budgets are also proposed in the Diet in the form of military laws that authorize funds for up to 4 years. The Diet also requires consent for all treaties regarding customs and trade. The emperor is head of state of the Usean Empire. He has the power to create alliances, all legislation requires his royal assent, and he serves as commander in chief of the armed forces. His primary duties include appointing a Chancellor who serves as chairman of the Federal Council and calling and adjourning sessions of parliament. On the advice of the Chancellor, the Emperor also appoints ministers, and all imperial officers. The Chancellor serves as head of government. He chairs all sessions of the Federal Council and makes proposals to the Imperial Diet. Officially, he has no power to propose legislation and no vote in parliament. Politics: While in in theory, the Chancellor is only an administrator with no real voting power, in practice the person appointed by the emperor is usually a Prime Minister of one of the larger more powerful constituent states making up the Empire. A post they rarely give up upon accension to Chancellor. As a result, the Chancellor usually retains a voting seat within the Federal Council and have been known to introduce legislation through the Federal Council. This gives the Chancellor a much greater influence over the Empires politics than is otherwise intended. Since he serves at the emperor's pleasure, the Chancellor and Emperor work in close consort to direct policies and politics within the Empire. Voting is restricted to men over the age of 25, members of the military are not allowed to vote but may run for office. Many high-ranking officers within the Army trace their lineage to old nobility and thus many appointments to the Federal Council are given to current or prior military. As a result, the military influences much of the politics within the Empire. As commander in chief of the military, the emperor can use this to exercise great, albeit indirect influence over parliament. There are currently 16 political parties represented within the Imperial Diet. The largest three are the Christian Centre Party (center right), the Social Democratic Party (center left) and the Social Catholic Union Party (center right). These three parties currently dominate the political landscape of the lower house. The politics are dominated by conservative leanings but changing social climates are seeing the socialist gain strength. Society: The upper class is made up aristocrats, noblemen and successful industrialist. Industrialization has caused people to begin leaving the countryside and moving into cities seeking employment within the factories now fueling much of the country's economy. However, urbanization is resulting in a slow decline in living and working conditions among the lower class. The middle class is dominated by farmers and merchants, most of whom own their own land. Urbanization remains confined to the Northern and southern regions of the country while the middle and eastern portions are dominated by agriculture. The development of the working class is also causing a shift in the political climate as more factory workers unionize and become members of the Social Democratic Party. The divide between the rich and the poor continues to increase but universal male suffrage has given a voice to lower class men in politics. The general mood of the population seems to be fairly optimistic Cultural: Mostly Germanic in ethnicity with a few Slavs and Magyars in the eastern regions. The official language of Usea is a form of German that combines several regional dialects. Usea has a long proud tradition of music and fine arts. Many classical composers trace their origins to Usea. The night life of Usean aristocrats is dominated by trips to the theater. Hunting and fishing are also extremely popular leisure activities among the rich and the poor. Higher class individuals have been known to fund expeditions to far corners of the world and have partly been responsible for the colonial expansion across the globe. The white man's burden is a popular concept among Useans and it is believed that Usea has a moral obligation to bring civilization to less fortunate and less developed peoples. Academia: Public education system requiring all children to attend schools. This has resulted in high literacy rates even among the lower class. Schools also teach students history and expose them to music and fine arts. Mathematics are not required but highly encouraged and schools also teach technical skills relevant in an industrialized society. The nationwide public education system has also been instrumental in fostering a national identity. Teachers require state certifications and high standards of professionalism are maintained. There are many universities and higher technical schools within Usea. Usea is generally considered to be a world leader in science and mathematics. Economy: As the nation has industrialized, the economy has become extremely diverse. Coastal regions have seen massive expansions of the shipbuilding industry while the nation also maintains a very strong commercial fishing industry. Cities have developed into massive industrial centers with factories for making commercial products and military hardware. The steel industry is highly developed making extremely high-grade steel used for industrial and military purposes. Mining for ores and precious minerals has become a major industry with Usea being a large exporter of steel and refining catalyst. The largest industry in Usea remains agricultural with dairy and beef being the two largest agricultural products. Wheat, Barley and Hops are also major crops, and the beer industry is regarded as one of the finest in the world. Resources: Large deposits of high-grade iron ore, as well as small deposits of tungsten and chromium. Extremely large deposits of coal ranging from low to high grade. Large oak forest, particularly in the northern highlands and western mountain regions. The colonies also provide additional lumber deposits as well as large quantities of tungsten, bauxite and rubber and oil. Infrastructure: Usea has an extensive railway network crisscrossing the country linking every major town and city. The rail network was recently modernized to use standard gauge of 4 ft, 8 and 1/2 inches. Usea also has an extensive road network. Most roadways and all major highways are made using a soil and stone aggregate that makes them resistant to the elements and normal wear and tear. Extensive infrastructure exists for all major industrial sectors. To summarize, the national infrastructure is fairly typical for an industrialized nation with extensive (some might argue too extensive) railway network, developed roads and necessary support for major industrial centers. Army: 42 Infantry Divisions each consisting of 3 Brigades of Infantry (3,000 men each) and 2 Artillery Regiments, (54 artillery, 1000 men, 370 draft horses) for 420,000 men 300,000 Reservist 12 Cavalry Divisions each consisting of 2 Cavalry Brigades (3,000 men each) and 1 Horse Artillery Regiment (27 Artillery, 400 men and 100 horses) for 81,000 men 20 Colonial Brigades each consisting of 2 Infantry Regiments (1,000 men each), 1 Artillery Battery (18 pieces, 300 men, 120 mules) and 1 Coastal Artillery Regiment (4 large caliber pieces, 6 medium and 500 men) 56,000 men total 20,000 Combat engineers Balloon Corp Navy: Ironclad Mastless Battleships: Kaiser Class: 2 (4 under construction) Displacement: 12,000 tons Length: 105 meters Beam: 22 meters Draft: 8.38 meters Speed: 17 knots Armament: 2x2 13.5 inch/ L33 rifled breech loading guns Six 6 inch/ L26 guns in casemates 18 57mm guns 6 14 inch torpedo tubes Armor: 20 inch belt tapering to 8 inches at the ends

Sjakras Nipraiñetum AngarîvumaSacras Nipreńãtina Angarivís/Senkatòs Angarivòs Ènpereòn(Names in common local languages)
Power Status: Minor Power
Government Structure: Overall the Angarivi Empire as it has been anglicized is a large 'confederal' polity, quite different from the other more modernly organized states now dotting the globe. Overall the government is divided into three overall branches, which will be elaborated on below: Nipreńãtor/Ènpereòn (depending on region) - The Emperor, the highest monarch within the Empire and the official Head of State serving most executive functions. The Monarch has the final say in all matter should he wish, and though concessions have been made to other bodies it has yet to overturn the extent of his power, which is further vested by the church itself who holds immense coronation ceremonies for each emperor, prior to which one may not utilize the title at all. Upon the Emperor's death a new one is elected by seven electoral states, who during these times or any other time that an Emperor may be unable to rule are also permitted to form a regency council and temporarily step up to the executive position. Zaselńi Nipreńãs/Ènperĕlis Diƞĕtè - Called the Imperial Court, this large series of bodies serves as the Legislative body of the empire overall, though up util more recently it was more of a 'central forum' for its members to negotiate rather than form nationwide decisions. At the top of the Imperial Court lies the 'Elećĕdorlis Cunkeleòn', or Electoral Council. This council is made up of the 7 electors and serve as the highest legislative body, holding important positions such as Archtreasurer, Archmarshal, and other such positions which may be elaborated on later. Below them lies the Council of the Princes, which represents various imperial princes, lords, overall rulers of the numerous provinces and lands, as well as immediate lords/knights whether landed or not, alongside representatives of the church. This is often the largest body within the Court and is itself split into higher and lower benches, with the higher bench consisting of leaders of larger or more important states, receiving individual votes on all matters, while the lower bench receive only collective votes based on geography. Lastly within the Court is the Council of Cities, whose members consist of the heads(usually elected) of self ruling cities granted varying degrees of autonomy. The head of this council is nominally the head of the city in which the Imperial Court meets, though the cities can hold their own vote to change their head. The largest of the Imperial Cities like the Council of Princes gain singular votes, whilst the rest once more are brought into collective votes equal to that of the princely collective vote. The collective Court as a whole meets at least annually, with the general duties to do things such as establish budgets, allocate funding to various ministries, collect and register taxes, as well as proposing laws and other such legal matters. Ènperĕlis Eŭdiceòn - The last group to be discussed within the overall government is that of the Imperial Judicial Court, which as its name implies handles all the Judicial matters of governance. The Court is the supreme judicial body, as well as one of the most prominent areas where imperial power shines through, as the court is presided over by either the Emperor himself or an appointed representative. Members of the court itself are chosen, with half to be unlanded knights with a deep understanding of nobility and its laws, and the other half being of law school graduates of any class, experienced with common and state law outside of the nobility. Through these judges His Majesty also appoints regional judges who assemble their own more local courts, ensuring the law is properly enforced across the whole realm.
Politics: Due to its uniqueness in stature the politics of the nation varies heavily from region to region, with most the populace being under the control of numerous monarchs and lords, some with constitutional rights and others more autocratic. These lords are all dubbed Imperial Princes nominally but include various titles such as Grand and normal Dukes, Counts, Lords, Barons, and all other manners of title. As well as these there are the Imperial Free Cities, which function much closer to democracy with elected city councils at whose head is a 'Bderiĕputis', literally a city master in translation. These free cities are generally the forefront of political ideas with numerous political parties of the local states sprouting up including conservatives, liberals, prohibitionists, and all other manners of groups. Trade and Labour unions have begun to likewise rise throughout the recent years, campaigning for better rights across all states alike. As the Emperor is crowned by the head of the Church the faith too plays a key part in politics, with local temples proving centers of discussion and worship alike. As well as this each Prince-Elector naturally holds significant sway, with various differing states putting forth different issues to the oligarchic network of lords and sovereigns.
Society: Society is a quite diverse topic within the Empire, with many sprawling across every manner of success or lack of it anywhere you look. At the top are naturally the 'Great Nobility' as they are called, the usual monarchs and landed nobles with more expansive domains guaranteed by their family names and honor. Depending on if they rule an actual established state within the empire or not determines the full extent of their power but they are usually the driving forces of societal norms and ideas, as well as some of the richest though long standing codes of honor keep them giving back to the populace at least occasionally. Next below is a mixture of the 'Lesser Nobility' and most Merchants, those who are a general growing middle class equivalent, with land ownership varying from person to person. These people are the industrialists and drivers of new economic ideas generally, innovating in every form imaginable to man. Below this is what is generally considered the lower classes or just Freemen, workers, farmers, day laborers and all other manners of the lower end of the populace. These people are narrowly the majority of the populace and despite their being listed last aren't all poverty stricken, and some of them can be quite well off. These working classes as of recent decades have begun to organize into groups such as labor unions to increase their rights and pay, though traditional systems have thus far kept them more or less satiated with their general needs provided for to an extent.
Cultural: The overall cultural groups of the Empire are split into two main camps, those of the 'Angarivi' and those of the 'Veldrati'. The Angarivi are the proud descendants of the original founders of the empire and its predecessor, with most of their homeland stretching from the towering Indóris Mountains down to the eastern coasts and northern highlands of Mesozonia. A noble and tradition ridden people, the Angarivi are some of the finest artisans and poets of the empire, well renown for their stories and cuisine alike. They speak Angarivís, a descendant of the old Angarivî tongue now only really kept alive by the Church. Although they are the original founders they no longer are the majority of the population, being a little under half due to their smaller territorial size within the nation. On the western side of the Mountains stretching across the forests and plains of Aztlania are the Veldrati, originally a conquered peoples but now in many cases the more ruling of the two major cultures. These peoples are themselves numerous in sub-groups but overall throughout history were considered a 'warrior people', valuing honor and strength amongst other things. Though not as deeply respected for their artisanal talents many a great painter, poet, and other skilled persons have been born to the Veldrati and as time goes on they are becoming more properly recognized. There are other smaller minority groups but they are not need be spoken of due to their lack of size. Religion plays a deep part in the culture of the peoples within the Empire, often making a central pillar of their morality and everyday life itself. From the lowest beggar to the highest nobleman all are subject to the codes of morality dictated by the faith, guiding all along their life and toward a deserving afterlife. This religion is monotheistic in nature praising the One True God dubbed 'Śieúpatir' in the local tongue, alongside his numerous saints and faithful who spread his word. The church itself operates a state outside of the Empire based around one of its most sacred ancient cities, also coincidentally the founding city of the current empire's predecessor.
Academia: Traditionally an issue tackled by the faith, numerous churches have elementary facilities within their grounds to teach basic subjects to the children alongside a robust network of powerful universities, ranging from those more scientific in nature to those based around theological studies. Alongside this two decades ago a national public education was established, requiring all children from 6 years until 16 to enroll. The school system is split between Primary, for ages 6-12, and Secondary from 13-16. In the former many basics such as literacy, simple mathematics, and light studies into assorted educational but entertaining subjects are carried out, helping prepare the children for more proper education. Once in secondary subjects such as the sciences, history, and languages are introduced ensuring a well rounded knowledgeable citizen. Due to the inability of the government to fully organize a network of schools at the current time this national curriculum is generally split between the newer built public schools and the older church run monastic educational facilities, though they both follow the same overall curriculum. Alongside the education for children these schools also offer weekend courses for adults, teaching things like literacy to those who were born before the regulation or who were previously unable to access education for any other reason. In the higher education system it is more varied with universities both established by private educators, the church, and the state alike over the ages and specializing in numerous subjects. Naturally theology, linguistics, and the traditional sciences are some of the most prized subjects studied but there are also numerous schools teaching all forms of the arts, higher mathematics, and other such subjects which are growing in capability and competency as the years go on.
Economy: The economy of the Angarivi is nominally agricultural, with the vast networks of farms in Aztlania providing both produce to feed the people but also more commercial products such as cotton, wools, and all other manners of goods. The eastern regions of the mountains produce many luxuries including wines, oils, dyes, and fruits of which many are considered some of the finest across the globe. A large network of ports across the western coasts both brings and exports goods to and from the nation, though they are slowly becoming out of date in most cases except for the largest of these cities due to lessening of funds over the years. The advent of more global trade saw the wool and fabric industries skyrocket, with many textile mills dotting the numerous rivers of the land, and further inland within the mountains a growing iron and steel industry has begun to properly push the nation toward the modern age. Principle exports include woolen and cotton textiles/fabrics, wine and other fortified spirits, olive oils, exotic fruits, lamb, and staple grains such as quinoa and maize.
Resources: Within the Indóris Mountains lay bountiful reserves of iron, copper, and zinc which fuel the growing mining industries. Alongside these are the more traditionally mined minerals including gold, silver, and lead, and throughout numerous foothills and mountains alike lay coal deposits of varying quality and size. Across the land is quite significant amounts of oak and pine forests alike, while in the east coast lays one of the most beautiful and resource rich areas of lands with redwoods dominating the region. Possible oil deposits have been rumored to exist in the western colonies though it is yet to be proven, and all manners of stone for construction like limestone or marble exist within the varied landscape.
Infrastructure: In the west coast lay modern expensive ports and shipyards, acting as the main centers of commerce in the modern economy for the empire, while the east lay more traditional older but lesser used facilities. Sprawling across the older and historically important cities lays a network of paved roads built hundreds if not thousands of years ago, continuing to stand the test of time today. These roads prove an important link in land travel, while newer and smaller communities often only have common dirt paths maintained to varying degrees. Across the flatter portions of the country is an extensive canal network which formerly carried the majority of commerce, ranging from wide rivers capable of hosting ocean-going vessels to small canals only capable of operating small narrowboats. Electrification has begun in a few key cities including the capital but many still rely on gas lamps or candlelight. In recent decades the advent of the railroad made itself known, and through investment via the imperial crown and a few more economically savvy monarchs a moderate network has developed, connecting some of the primary ports with the capital and a few economic hubs of various internal states, but largely the nation is still developing and industrializing. Railways are standardized at 5.5 Veldrat pióućen (or 1532.3mm/5ft, 3 and 1/4in).
Army: The Army is divided into three sections, the Active Army, the First Reserve, and Second Reserve. The Active Army is a mixture of career soldiers and active conscripts, whilst the First Reserve is for conscripts after their active service for 6 years, whilst the Second Reserve are reservists back in civilian life ready to be assembled if need be. Thus the breakup of the army will be in these three sections as below:
Active Army: 12 Infantry Brigades (6912 Men each, totaling 82,944 men) 7 Cavalry Regiments(2304 Men each, totaling 16,128 men) 2 Independent Field Artillery Regiments(1224 men including officers, 216 guns) 1 Independent Mountain Artillery Battalion(432 men total, 36 guns) 2 Siege Artillery Battalions (864 men total, 72 guns)

Country Name: Tainan Grand Republic Flag: Power Status: Rising Power Government Structure: Executive Branch: The executive branch of the Tainan Grand Republic is headed by the Prime Minister, who is elected via a popular vote every 6 years and has the power to propose bills to the legislative branch, including requesting a declaration of war. Legislative Branch: The legislative branch of the Tainan Grand Republic is made up of two houses. The upper house is smaller and is called the Grand Assembly, made up of three representatives per region, with a total of 45 current members of the upper house. The lower house is called the National Assembly, where there is one representative per every 70,000 voting eligible individuals within a region, and there are a total of 386 current members of the lower house Judicial Branch: The judicial branch of the Tainan Grand Republic is primarily tasked with interpreting the laws made by the legislative branch and determining if they are following in the spirit and intent of the constitution. Politics: The country itself is run under the will of eligible votes, where eligible voters are those individual Tainan males 18 and over who own at minimum 15 acres of land. There are exceptions for those who are not Tainan natives, such as from one of the newly federalized overseas territories, where the requirement is 35 acres of land as well as 5 years of military service. The political state of the Republic itself is divided between five main political parties. There is the largest and currently ruling party, the liberal Union Republicano. Their main opponents in the second largest party, the conservative Liga de Restauracion. There are three minority parties, which occasionally form coalition governments with the larger parties. The socialist Los Republicanos Sociales party, the Macoris independence party, the Frente de Independencia Macori, and the Macoris unification party, the Movimiento de Unification Macori. The division of the parties in the Grand and National Assemblies is as follows: Grand Assembly: 41% UR, 28% LR, 9% LRS, 8% FIM, 14% MUM National Assembly: 38% UR, 30% LR, 11% LRS, 10% FIM, 11% MUM Society: Upper society of the Tainian Grand Republic is made up primarily of affluent industrialists, shipwrights, and former nobles after the dissolution of the previous ruling Duchy. Industrialization is a process leaving the early stages where more and more subsistence fishermen and their family move into the cities. There is a minuscule but growing middle class, forming the most ardent base of power for the minority Macoris population, especially on the mainland western continent. These middle class individuals are land owners with stakes in the nascent industrial shipbuilding industry or the mainland copper and sulfur mining industry. The lower class in the Republic are a mix of Tainan and Macoris peoples, surviving mostly on the fishing trade to make a living and put food on the table, although many are beginning to seek opportunities either within the cities or organizing into unions to have more power over their own economics. Culture(s): The people of the Tainan Republic are Caribbean in ethnicity, the official language of the Republic is Tainan, with the Mycoris being a close enough language that it is accepted in public institutions, although Tainan itself is preferred and promoted in academia. Tainan tradition promotes sailing, with adolescents commonly signing up for the naval cadet service if not intending to pursue higher education. The arts in the Republic revolve around grandiose plays telling the ancient legends from the Tainan religion, tales of great victories at sea and great losses in service to the sea goddess, Same (pronounced: Sa-me) Academia: The Republic does not have compulsory public education, instead having several private institutions in major cities as well as on the mainland dedicated to education for ages 5-16, with those of lower social standing seeking apprenticeships for their children, especially in the national industry that is shipbuilding. Mathematics and the sciences are nascent fields of study, with the military providing funding for them as developments from the outside world are discovered by word of mouth. Economy: The Tainan Republic economy is based primarily around fishing, with the export of various species of fish and resources obtained from coastal areas, land based farming exists mainly in the mainland territories and deep inland on the islands as well, but are a secondary factor in the agricultural economy. There is also a growing mining sector for Copper and Sulfur exports, with coal and iron mining found almost entirely on the mainland and only in small amounts. There is a growing import economy based around manufactured goods, with domestic attempts not reaching the level of production or quality to truly compete, that going for both domestic goods as well as industrial and military goods such as heavy artillery, heavy steel armor plates, and heavy machinery. Within the cities, sections of the industrial district are built entirely around the manufacture of ship hulls, where Resources: Extensive copper and sulfur in large amounts on the main island, medium grade iron, low to medium grade coal, and lead deposits on the mainland, along with small-scale harvesting of dyes and cotton on small plots of family land. Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the Republic is mostly stone roads between the major cities, with dirt paths extending from them to various small towns and villages in the countryside. However, there are massive ports which feed and service the massive inter-island and international shipping fleet, making the coastal and oceanic waterways the economic arteries of the country. Army: The Army of the Republic has seen better days, having been seen as a more secondary force compared to the Navy due to the island nature of the country and the establishment and popularization of the Navy’s own force of Marines. There is a need for modernization within the army on almost all levels along with a search for foreign advisors and suppliers. Army of the Republic: 12 Infantry Regiments (4795 Men each)
4 Cavalry Battalions (1064 Men each)
4 Artillery Regiments (1194 Men each, 54 guns)
1 Independent Siege Artillery Regiment (1354 Men, 81 guns)
Army Equipment:
M2143 Vargas Rifle - Standard issue army rifle, M1865 in Gregorian years
M2138 Vargas Cavalry Rifle - Standard issue cavalry rifle, M1860 in Gregorian years
M2139 95mm Gun - Standard issue field artillery, M1861 in Gregorian years
M2147 180mm Siege Gun - Standard issue siege gun, M1869 in Gregorian years
M2153 Biaggi Revolver - Standard issue army pistol, M1875 in Gregorian years
Navy: The Grand Republican Navy is the premier fighting force of the island nation, charged with defending the waterways between the islands as well as the small but growing international exports from the Republic itself. The Navy is currently undergoing a process of expansion and modernization, utilizing foreign orders as the shipbuilding industries domestically have yet to meet the needs of the service, especially when it comes to manufacturing complex propulsion plants and heavy armor. The Navy is also in charge of the Marines, funding their modernization and keeping them up to date as a premier fighting force, albeit far smaller than the Army. Grand Republican Navy: Capital Ships:

Country Name: The Imperial Rossiyan Hegemony Flag: good uploadPower Status: Great Power Government Structure: Supreme Rossiyan - (Leader) elected by groups of Priors (senators in other countries) the Supreme Rossiyan otherwise known as the Chairman/Emperor/Supreme Leader term is a life position and vacated upon death. The Supreme Rossiyan draws his power through combined support of the Army and Navy. Politics: Politics are dictated by the Supreme Rossiyan, as there is no opposition party, opposers are usually charged with treason and executed, opposition is viewed as a weakness as many Rossiyans country expect total obedience to the Supreme Rossiyan. Resources: (What are the major/numerous resources that are present in your nation and colonies?) Infrastructure: Over 28 private and company-owned and 7 state-owned iron factories, one state-owned and two company-owned copper plants,. In the Urals there are about 15 copper state-owned and private factories, and about 10 and 5 state-owned iron factories, 14 trade ports, roads and railways under construction. Army: age -21–40 Conscription 10 years compulsory service Active personnel- 850,000 active cavalry 125,000 50,000 artillery units infantry -525,000 Reserves - 260,000 population pool- 48,000,000 Navy: 58 Line of Battleships 149 Frigates 10 schooners and 150 small patrol craft World Map View AttachmentI need a real flag. Not an "artist's" impression. This is an example: Something where the flag takes up the entire image and the coat of arms/imagery remains on the flag. Make the red/strikethrough edits I made on your politics Add a resources section. Its blank.
This is what you'll get for your map selection. I can't let you have the largest contiguous continental land mass and the largest colony. I'll give you the land mass. I even gave you access to Ocasium and Ceteus. Make these edits, and your application as a great power is accepted.

Country Name: Kingdom of Elfrieden Flag: Power Status: Great Power Population: 91,080,345 Government Structure: Royal:This is the seat of the King or Queen of the Kingdom, from where law, order, and the future of the Kingdom are managed.
Army: Royal Land Forces: 150 Legions: 1,410,000 (Active and Reserve) Standing Legions: 30 Legions (300,000 Troops) Standing legions represent the mobile forces of the Kingdom, able to be sent where the Kingdom needs them. Barracks Corps: 60 Legions (600,000 Troops) Barracks corps are the culmination of the forces deployed to the colonies and frontier fortresses. Marine Corps: 10 Legions (50,000 Marines) Known as the King’s Fist, the Marine Corps represents both the pride of the nation, and the tip of the spear in times of war. Reserve Legions: 45 Legions (450,000 troops) Exactly what it sounds like, the ready reserve to reinforce the Standing Legions or Barracks Corps. Navy: Royal Naval Forces: 300 ships Ironclad: Prince Consort class Ironclad - 24 in service - none ordered Royal Oak class Ironclad - 25 in service - none ordered Frigate: Thames class 32 gun Fifth rate Frigate - 19 in service - none ordered Minerva class 38 gun Fifth rate Frigate - 21 in service- none ordered Cruisers: Armored: Orlando First class Armored Cruiser - 21 built - 24 ordered Imperious Armored Cruiser - 20 built - 5 ordered Destroyer: Type-01 Destroyer - 38 built - 32 ordered Monitor: Humber class Coastal Monitor - 12 built - 2 ordered Sloop: Osprey class 120 in service - none ordered The Royal navy is currently in a rebuilding cycle, pulling older sailing ships out of service as newer vessels enter. Up till now, the Royal navy has relied on faster sailing ships, natural bottle necks, and superior gunnery training to best opponents, but with time and technology advancing, it is time for an overhaul of the fleet. Nation Map: View AttachmentThe white circles are the major cities of the Kingdom, the dots matching the color of the area are minor cities. The Dark red dots are major naval bases and the purple dots are major Army bases. Teal dots are minor naval bases, serving as resupply points. All cities have ports capable of servicing naval vessels of all sizes. Black: Main Kingdom Territory Blue: Tournic Island chain Green: Mao’i (small island) Taor (large island) Pink: Fi’ Naur Island chain Red: Ferric Island Your application will be accepted upon the following edits:
1) The tech limit is 1884. I'll allow the Imperious Armored cruiser. But the Orlando-class cruiser and Humber class monitor are too new, so please find replacement options. I'd replace the destroyer, which is also too new, with something equivalent, like sail-driven frigates or an early torpedo boat, like HMS Lightning.
2) Your military is unbalanced. I need your ground forces reduced by 20%. Your number of ironclad/battleships should be reduced by 50%. Your number of cruisers and on order should be reduced by 60%. Your sloops should be reduced by 50%. You may add 10-15 torpedo boats in replacement of the 30 destroyers. You may add 15-20 ships of the line.
3) I'd prefer if you referred to the land masses by the names in the original map I added. You may use your names, only if you put in parantheses the name on the map so I don't have to refer to this application. So for instance, the Fi'Naur Island chain is also (Merinesia) whenever you mention it in your turns and operations.

Country Name: The Imperial Rossiyan Hegemony Flag: View AttachmentPower Status: Great Power Government Structure: Supreme Rossiyan - (Leader) elected by groups of Priors (senators in other countries) the Supreme Rossiyan otherwise known as the Chairman/Emperor/Supreme Leader term is a life position and vacated upon death. The Supreme Rossiyan draws his power through combined support of the Army and Navy.

Country Name: Tainan Grand Republic Flag: View Attachment Power Status: Rising Power Government Structure: Executive Branch: The executive branch of the Tainan Grand Republic is headed by the Prime Minister, who is elected via a popular vote every 6 years and has the power to propose bills to the legislative branch, including requesting a declaration of war.

M2147 180mm Siege Gun - Standard issue siege gun, M1869 in Gregorian years

Country Name: Kingdom of Elfrieden Flag: Power Status: Great Power Population: 91,080,345 Government Structure: Royal:This is the seat of the King or Queen of the Kingdom, from where law, order, and the future of the Kingdom are managed.
Nation Map: View AttachmentThe white circles are the major cities of the Kingdom, the dots matching the color of the area are minor cities. The Dark red dots are major naval bases and the purple dots are major Army bases. Teal dots are minor naval bases, serving as resupply points. Country Name: Empire of Dh’ar / Dh’ar Imparatorluk Flag: Power Status: Rising Power Government Structure: Executive: Constitutional Monarchy, representatives chosen from each province ensure the formation of the Imperial Government and parliament. The emperor still holds some power, but due to this being a rising power, radical ideas could change this. Legislative: Parliament; creation of law, managing budget, etc Judicial: Three tiered court system (such as the French system) + all law enforcement agencies. Politics: The house of Dh’arhun united the different tribes of the nation under one banner, closely following the religious tennets of the Zhakaran (ibrahamic-esque text). Nowadays the different houses answer to house Dh’arhun, but each one of them have their own provinces over which they hold power. The parliament works as a front for the houses, albeit to a lesser extent since each individual has the freedom to vote for their representatives in each province, which may lead to different parties or houses having a majority in the parliament. Given the existence of the houses, its clear that the nobility does have sway, but this is second only to the military, which has remained loyal to the great house of Dh’arhun and through which the country was united under. Society: In the main cities of the empire, thanks to industrialization, there is a rising middle class and the strategic position of the empire has allowed trade to flourish between nations, the rich are those that have managed to establish trade and mining guilds within the country. As is normal, a significant portion of the population is poor, but these lower class citizens have recently found work in the industrial and agricultural centers of the empire and most importantly, the military. The country is made up of people that consider themselves members of any one of the houses, however, they are both loyal to the empire itself and to the house they belong to. Zhakarians are those that practice the main state sponsored religion of Zhakharianism, although the most faithful members carry out pilgrimages to the mountain city on the Kardesh mountains, which also maintains the largest monastery in the country, where artifacts of religious significance are held and thousands of faithful walk the long roads to enter the great church atop Mount Kardesh. çeteci are the few tribes that still roam the wild desert of Dunia and who do not bow down to the Empire, however relations with them have mellowed out in recent decades, with some of their ways being adopted by those who live within the walls of the desert cities along the river Yilan. High culture is most prominent in the cities, where there are theaters, museums, art galleries and so on, while the masses partake in festivities in the name of god, the saints, or a historical date worth remembering. Academia: Industrialized with a severe technological divide between the rural and urban sectors of the country, although the Academia that there is, is dedicated to the progress of medicine, chemistry, and most recently, metallurgy. Economy: It is mostly led by guilds consisting of small businesses and local owners, especially in the agricultural sector, although mining consists of a few large companies that can afford to buy the equipment needed to properly exploit the rich resource deposits in the mountainous terrain of the nation. Another large part of the economy is its trade, given its strategic location between several powers; textiles, art, etc, are commonly sold or sought after from such a colorful culture. Resources: Various minerals from the mountains, oil, wood, farmland down south, fishing. Infrastructure: Only some cities along the coast have major trade ports, such as the city to the North-West and North-East but especially the capital, being the trade, cultural, and military center of the country. The Empire has made a major investment in developing rail networks between its trading partners and every single city in the nation, allowing for relatively quick travel of its subjects, trade, and overall logistics. Most cities have brick roads and streets, while outside of the cities gravel roads or none at all are the rule. Army: The army is specialized in tropical and desert warfare, since it is the climate of the Empire, infantry undergoes training to use the terrain to their advantage, with officers being granted independence to pursue their objectives as they see fit, exercising caution where needed while maintaining cohesion. Light infantry specializes in recon, skirmishing, and harassment of enemy units and logistics. Cavalry have the role to harass and take part in skirmishes against any enemy they might encounter, giving an important role to the rotary guns attached to each regiment, each of these guns is attached to wagons for rapid and mobile deployment without having to waste time setting up the gun. Artillery regiments work closely with infantry divisions, providing support, suppression, and destruction of enemy structures as needed. North East, North West, and Capital cities are heavily fortified, boasting a series of large walls, forts, and heavy gun emplacements for naval defense. Other coastal cities may have minor defensive structures. 4 light infantry divisions, 23 regiments 2500 men each, 2 battalions of 6 companies of 200 men each.
