French 5th Republic*insert French Flag here* Arise, children of the Fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us, tyranny's
Bloody standard is raised, (repeat)
Do you hear, in the countryside,
The roar of those ferocious soldiers?
They're coming right into your arms
To cut the throats of your sons, your women!
To arms, citizens,
Form your battalions,
Let's march, let's march!
Let an impure blood
Water our furrows!
What does this horde of slaves,
Of traitors and conspiring kings want?
For whom have these vile chains,
These irons, been long prepared? (repeat)
Frenchmen, for us, ah! What outrage
What furious action it must arouse!
It is to us they dare plan
A return to the old slavery!
To arms, citizens ...
What! Foreign cohorts
Would make the law in our homes!
What! These mercenary phalanxes
Would strike down our proud warriors! (repeat)
Great God! By chained hands
Our brows would yield under the yoke!
Vile despots would themselves become
The masters of our destinies!
To arms, citizens ...
Tremble, tyrants and you traitors
The shame of all parties,
Tremble! Your parricidal schemes
Will finally receive their prize! (repeat)
Everyone is a soldier to combat you,
If they fall, our young heroes,
Will be produced anew from the ground,
Ready to fight against you!
To arms, citizens ...
Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors,
Bear or hold back your blows!
Spare those sorry victims,
For regretfully arming against us. (repeat)
But these bloodthirsty despots,
These accomplices of Bouillé,
All these tigers who mercilessly
Tear apart their mother's breast!
To arms, citizens ...
Sacred love of the Fatherland,
Lead, support our avenging arms
Liberty, cherished Liberty,
Fight with thy defenders! (repeat)
Under our flags may victory
Hurry to thy manly accents,
So that thy expiring enemies
See thy triumph and our glory!
To arms, citizens ...

France would also like to enter a motion with the United Nations to send a fact finding mission into Kashmir to discover the truth of what is happening on the border. If this is a case of Pakistani aggression then we must take action to avoid escalation. If this is an attempt by India to provoke a conflict, then the UN must be prepared to take appropriate action.

Alliances/trade agreements:
NATO Political speech to the allied world-adressing earlier statementsA message to the World
Since the dawn of the colonial age, nation-states have gazed longingly at the bounty of the New World. Our history is one of violent defilement and greedy exploitation at the hands of Colonialism and European Imperialism. Over time, we overcame these threats, and in the peace that followed we restored the beauty of the New World as we forged a New American Century.
But now, a new threat lingers over the horizon. The rise of Communism has placed the New World under threat once more. The false song it sings has tricked millions into falling under its iron grasp. That song of sweet promise tells a tale of equality and prosperity, but that has not panned out for any of the peoples that willingly chose it. Nor have those who were brought forcefully under the yolk of Communism seen any of its so-called progress.
Albania, Poland, Romania, Hungary, East German, Czechoslovakia - the nations of Eastern Europe have fallen victim to the false prophets of Marxism-Leninism. And now the island of Cuba, mere miles from the sanctity of our shores, has also joined the realm of the oppressed. They are all examples of the failure of Communism to deliver on its promises, and of the speed with which its song can overcome a nation.
Make no mistake, this is a threat to the Citizens of the United States, and to all the free peoples of the Americas and the World at large. We shall not ignore this threat. We shall, in keeping with the highest traditions of countless patriots before us, rise to the challenge of upholding the freedom we all cherish so deeply. The United States of America re-affirms its dedication to guarantee the rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness for all Citizens of the Free World. 2nd Speech
Military Expansion
The American people have never faced a more precarious period of peace than now. We are beset on all sides by violent revolutions, political insurrections, and the insipid encroachment of the Communism. The approach of the Red Menace is inexorable, and if we continue to stand idly by as that threat surges, then the free nations of the world will continue to fall one by one.
As we learned in the Second World War, a strong military is the surest guarantee and the strongest safe-guard of our nation and way of life. We must stand prepared to meet each and every threat immediately and decisively. We are building such a force, but much more work must be done.
"The world must be made safe for democracy," said Roosevelt. Our diplomats have worked tirelessly to bring together the free nations of the world into multiple overlapping treaties, agreements, and obligations to secure the future of our way of life. But we must be able to meet those obligations. Sadly, the present state of the military leaves us of far short of that goal.
An extended expansion of the Armed Forces is required. The Communist menace will not wait for us to play catch-up; it will not hold back in the interest of fair play. We must expand our defenses, and we must do so immediately. This is not just a matter of monetary cost, or even that of the highest sacrifice in human lives to honor our commitments to freedom. This is a challenge to protect the very soul of the Free World. We are the leaders of that world, and as such we must choose whether we take a firm step into the future, backed by the strength of our might in arms, or fade back into a time of fear and oppression.

Dutchball turn 2
Diplo:
- Roll around in a dizzying manner meant to assert leadership among the other two members of Benelux (or not, this is sleep deprived sarcasm humor, but if my foreign minister thinks it'll work, it's Heineken time!) - Place a fancy order with our friends the French for an aircraft carrier built to the same design as the Clemenceau class, differing only in having shinier newer radars/radios/electronics in general as a consequence of progress made in the field. This carrier will also be named Karel Doorman, and when completed the current one will be decommissioned and sold/scrapped as appropriate. This is likely to be a 5 year or so construction project, but the foreign minister might as well get about marketing our present carrier, see if the likes of Brazil, India, Argentina, Portugal, or otherwise might be interested in it. - Place an equally fancy order with Convair in the United States for 24 F-106A and 6 F-106B interceptors. Terms would include a license to build spare and replacement parts/units to maintain the numbers and an option to domestically build up to another 24 and 6 units respectively should the strategic situation merit such a course of action (for an appropriate fee to Convair should the option be activated). Additionally, the Kingdom of the Netherlands agrees not to re-sell or gift these units for a period of no less than ten years - As naval aircraft are blue collar, decent respectable types, a no less important but somewhat less fancy order for 24 F-8E(FN) crusaders will be placed with Chance Vought built to the same standard as the F-8Es they just recently completed for France. A similar license to build replacement parts/units will also be pursued, but no need for an expansion option is necessary unless someone wants to buy me a second new CV - From Dassault, a similar order for the current mark of Etendard (the IV I believe?) in 24 units will also be placed, as well as an option to buy the tooling to build our own replacements should Dassault cease production. Until that time, if we cannot source parts from France, it is likely we need not worry about much other than what clothes to wear with our newfound green glow and broken cities.
Domestic:
-We're the Netherlands, this place is great so long as the sea level doesn't suddenly spike!
Research:
-we should not wait til past the last minute to post our turns and research research topics for next turn.

America 80 years ago: The first speech hits international political cir with mixed reactions. As the president seems out of touch with how communism isn’t rising as a new ideology. And that Cuba has been communist for over half a decade. Memories in Caribbean governments of the Bay of Pigs incident resurface and make headlines. In Western Europe Questions rise about the United States commitment to a free world or an American world.
The second speech is taken poorly, as the United States’ only neighbors are both politically close and weaker, despite Mexico leaning away. Critics point out that the American military is on a whole other level from all countries except the Soviet Union in scale. Critics also point out that NATO’s attempts an easing logistics have mostly been repulsed by various nations in the alliance being unable to decide. American involvement and troops in South Vietnam also bring harsh words to the administration as the draft is already underway to bring more young men there against their will.
Pro party rallies are attended, approval ratings in the Deep South go up 0.02% as a whole as the rallies also face protests due to the growing government support of the Civil Rights movement.
Representatives from the UK examine the Forrestal and Kitty Hawk class plans
30 F-106’s sold to the Dutch, as well as 24 F-8E Crusaders.
Approval ratings of LBJ go down 2% thanks to a scandal developing of the President getting shit face drunk in the Oval Office.
Visits made to the UK.
China receives equipment and licensing listed.
NATO nations deny the invitation, citing the alliance is North Atlantic focused, and the Falklands are certainly not North.
Port defense now includes chaff dispensers to the disdain of quartermasters and workers due to less space available.
The announcement is made, only Israel makes a positive response to the project, Japan citing it already has an MBT program and dropping out before even joining.
Construction of the base will be finished turn 10. Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil all protest against it.
Aircraft manufacturers in the United States all try and get longer dates for the proposal submission.
The listed vessels all undergo modification, slated to be done turn 8 expect for Massachusetts, slated to be done turn 10
B-52’s ordered, 15 per turn. YF-16’s ordered, 4 per turn.
Water bois:

Turn 2 events:
Mining Mishaps June 1st, a coal mine in Japan explodes, killing 237. Preliminary investigations determine the fault to be of a natural anomaly. Closer looks will be taken into the mining industry in Japan, declares Japanese diet. On June 7th, a mining disaster in Bosnia and Herzegovina caused the deaths of 128 miners in Kakanj.
Oh, America On Palm Sunday, April 11th, several midwestern states were hit by an estimated 51 tornadoes, killing over 250 Americans, and injuring around 1,500. Two months later, on June 3rd, Ed White conducted the first American space walk, marking a new period in American space travel.
April 24th, what a day. In the Dominican Republic, a mutiny of civilians and officers loyal to the deposed President Juan Bosch overthrew the right-wing government, establishing a provisional republic. The deposed military government leads a counter-coup the next day. A civil war has begun, but the new government still remains in power. All the way across the pond in Spain, Portuguese opposition leader Humberto Delgado has been found dead near the border of Portugal. It is claimed border guards fired on him in self-defense, however Delgado was found to be unarmed and his secretary, who walked with him to the border, was strangled. It is suspected that Salazar had his secret police, PIDE, assassinate Delgado.

Internal Affairs:

External Affairs:
A speech to the world is made to not only promote immigration but reassure Finnish neutrality.
“East vs West. Is this what the world has come down to comrades? For us, it's just another turn of the wheel. Finland does not have a long history of independence. We had to fight for it. Fight against the Russian Empire and again fight against our Soviet neighbors to the east. Fight we did and fight well. The Red Menace that the West speaks of is very real for us. Has been for decades. But even as Armies and Empires were being hurled against us, the Finnish nation and its people stood strong. We looked the Soviets in the eye and they blinked first. But where was the west when Karelia fell? Where was the West when our enemies closed in around us? Only when it was convenient for them did the west proclaim the Soviets their adversaries. Even as our people were being slaughtered, they called the Soviet Union their friends. They turned their back on Poland and all of the east as the iron curtain came down around us. For that, we cannot forget. We cannot depend on such people to ensure our freedom, our protection. For that, we must look to our own. We will continue to stand strong in the face of the threat. Whether that threat comes from the west or the east. We will defend our country. Whatever the cost may be. Neutrality comrades are our best defense. For only we can defend this country. Only we can defend ourselves. So here we stand with the world around us crumbling. Standing as a beacon for all the world to see. For all men to see. And anyone who wishes to be part of it, to escape tyranny and oppression are welcome to do so. They too will become our comrades. And together, all of us will survive.”
Launch a short term immigration ad campaign to convince people to immigrate to Finland.
Send out delegates to secure good relationships with Estonia, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. Finland wants to keep good relations with its neighbors and cultured friends.
Economic Affairs:
Continue the construction of a new shipyard in Helsinki named Harakka. (Finished turn 7)
