Alliances/trade agreements: NATO Political speech to the allied worldTwo thousand years ago, the proudest boast was "civis Romanus sum" - I am a Roman citizen. Today, in the world of freedom, the proudest boast is "I am an American." 194 million souls are fortunate enough to make this boast. But tonight, I do not speak only to my fellow countrymen. Tonight, I speak to all of the free peoples of North America. We live in a time of peril. The forces of darkness conspire to deprive us of our freedom. Red communism can only exist in a world where the freedoms of thought, consciousness, and determination are long forgotten. To this end, they will stop at nothing to ensure our elimination - or they will die trying. The Red Menace is already on the move. In the past 20 years, the dominos have fallen in Eastern Europe, Africa, and now Asia. The Iron Curtain continues to be drawn across the world. Our freedom has its weaknesses. We accept many of them because it's the price you pay to live in a world free from oppression. But through our freedom, we have created unnecessary divisions amongst us. We may be united in our diversity, but we are divided in our identities and our politics. To my Canadian, Mexican, and Central American brothers and sisters - we are all Americans. We are not a disparate group of countries, but one people, indivisible, united in the common goal of self-determination. We choose freedom over tyranny, democracy over despotism, self-righteousness over corruption. I call upon all the free peoples of North America: let us remove these arbitrary divisions between us. Let us embrace our common ideals and shared heritage. Let us all unite in the spirit of freedom. United, we can face the challenges of an uncertain future. United, we will stand strong in the race of communist aggression. Together, we will build a stronger nation so that all of us may continue to make a proud boast that "I am an American." ConstructionNone Domestic Affairs-The President of India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, will give a speech about the oncoming Inflation crisis that the government experts have predicted. He will state that changes will have to be made and that the Indian populace should brace for economic retooling. -Form the Indian National Security Service. For the next three months, headquarters, offices, and facilities will be built; administrators, officers, and employees will be hired; and assets will be acquired. -The Ministry of Finance will unroll the new fiscal policy of 65-66: The Indian government will cut 3% of overall spending for the current budgetary year, largely from welfare and military areas. Business taxes will rise 20%, (eg. 1% -> 1.2%) lower bracket income taxes will rise 24%, middle bracket income taxes will rise 12%, and and upper bracket income taxes will rise 27%. -Task the national orchestra and military bands with the composition of new nationalistic songs that input to India’s collective culture and conscious. -Exempt film and television industries from new tax increases if they create ‘Pro-India’ films and media. Anything deemed ‘outside the best interests’ of India and her people, will cost the film or television company their tax exemption. DiplomacyNone Military Affairs-Begin army reorganization. The Indian National Army will be reformed according to the organizational chart, PMed to moderator. From this point on, all construction, recruitment, and operational moves will be done using unit sizes from this organizational chart. Trade-Increase consumer goods imports from Japan in exchange for Indian cotton and textiles. ResearchNone DevelopmentNone OperationsNone

Internal Affairs:
Pass a resolution announcing Frances plan to recommit itself to the efforts of NATO. This plan does not mean the full integration of French military capability into NATO. The necessity of pursuing an independent nuclear program simply cannot be overstated. France will continue to develop its own strategic and tactical nuclear weapons so long as there is a clear and present danger to the French Republic. However, the security of Europe as a whole is dependent on France. To that end, we will be submitting a proposal to NATO for the reorganization of NATO defense deployments with the French Army and tactical air forces forming a key component of said deployments. In doing so, France will assert for itself a leading role in NATO allowing us to continue to pursue independent military and foreign policies without compromising our defense or the defense of our neighbors. Whose sovereignty is of the utmost importance for the defense of our Republic.
Diplomacy:
France as the first Western Power to recognize the sovereignty of the Peoples Republic of China, welcomes China's efforts at improving relations with the rest of the west. If there is anything we can do to help in a diplomatic character, it would be our honor to be instrumental in the establishment of friendly relations with China and the west.

Turn 1 Moderations:
United States is Supreme Blunders: Speech: Europe feels ignored by the speech, several speeches from minority parties of NATO countries such as the Netherlands and Italy are given promotions a European focused alliance, though few attend the rally’s Mexico and Central American polls show a spike in left wing support in all except Chile, Argentina, and Honduras have spikes in right wing support with riots in some major cities such as Rio de Janeiro calling for a South American Alliance Canada has begun seeking closer ties to France, much to the pleasure of the Quebecois minority in Quebec
The transfer of Iwo Jima and Okinawa to Japan goes well, military bases still left under American control. Japan however has denied gaining “Iwo Jim” however.
The Navy is currently developing land based batteries for its RIM-24 Terrier missiles, guns are considered obsolete so anti ship work is not included and no way to stop missile have been developed so none are installed either. 2 turns for RIM-24G
Interstate Highway expansion to take 2 turns, R.I.P. Route 66
The navy and congress balks at the sudden order for 3 more slipways capable of 70,000 tons and three to be built on the west coast. While the industries are more than happy to provide with ample payment, congress refuses to allow any budget to be allocated to the project. Shutting it down cold.
Congress also rejects a passing for a 2 million man draft for the army in peace time, citing it would be a move far too aggressive when destruction for both sides of the iron curtain is assured. Subsequent drafts for the Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps are also denied as the total manpower drawn on would total 5,100,000 personnel taken away from the work force.
Joint International MBT Project is denied as no info was given, on either specs, partners, and cost.
F-15 Project denied as no specifications have been issued for a new fighter, nor is one needed as current airframes are more than adequate for the United States
Des Moines and Alaska class denied on ground of old hulls of that design being too crew intensive and expensive
Forestall class order denied due to a more modern design of conventionally powered super carrier existing. The Kitty Hawk class and John F Kennedy class
CVN-68, CVN-69 and CVN-70 ordered, with CVN-68 laid down after the commissioning of CV-64 USS America. Names are required for the 3 Enterprise class ordered. CVN-68 launched turn 9, commissioned turn 14
Congress denies the construction of an additional 5 George Washington, 5 Ethan Allen, 8 Benjamin Franklin class SSBN’s, as well as 10 James Madison class seeing as half of the 12 Benjamin Franklin class currently on order are still building. A Thresher class submarine is denied as more advanced models exist and are currently being built.
While the Air Force May be praising the president for an order of 1,200 B-52 bombers, congress denies it as there Arne rebbe enough air dropped nuclear bombs to arm them all. Leaving them as a waste of manpower and cash. 100 YF-12’s are put on hold order as Congress and the Air Force both order more testing of the prototypes though.
USS Newport News is taken into rock to have the aft turret removed and a RIM-2 system mounted instead.

Turn 1 Events:
South and Central America have recently placed bids for new military equipment following a speech made by the President of the United States demanding a return to 19th century power plays and puppetry (as interpreted by said governments). Requesting such equipment from the Soviet Union, Sweden, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and West Germany while still taking offers from other nations of presented. Some nations such as Cuba and Mexico order directly from countries not told to world news networks. The following shows a list of nations currently ordering equipment in the present quarter:

Two early morning earth quakes were recorded prior to the land slide down the mountain. A bus drive ruby the name of David Hughes is credited with saving those he was transporting after being told to turn around. A new bumpy road has been routed around the slide, planned to be the site of the new highway.
Kashmir Crisis! Indian border police officials have reported numerous skirmishes since January in the Kashmir region due to incursions by Pakistani border police. Pakistan denies such claims and will respond with force if India does the same. Those skirmishes have led to a raising of tensions in the region, spiking to levels not seen since the First Kashmir War in 1947-1948.

Finland Turn 2 Research:
- Noidannuoli (Missile Boat)
- KP-19 (Submachine Gun)
- P-19 (Pistol)
Military:
- Start a naval reformation effort to try and push for a more offensive navy to better protect Finnish waters. Finland knows it won’t be able to compete with the likes of the United Kingdom or next door neighbor USSR, but it also knows it needs a stronger grasp on the Baltics to protect not only Aland but Finnish homeland as a whole. New naval designs will be designed and developed with the help of France. Their previous experience, effective boat designs, and willingness to help Finland make them a great ally for this naval reformation.
- The Finnish military is obviously outdated and has severe logistics problems, so the replacement and retirement of the following arms will take place. They will be sent to warehouses, museums, training camps, and other organizations willing to take them. Standardization of 7.62mm machine guns will take place, continuing the production of the RK-62 and KK-62. The new acquired M1911 license will be used to create a 9mm Finnish variant under the name P-19, as well as be used to help with R&D for a new submachine gun called the KP-19 under the same cartridge.

Internal Affairs:
- Invite French naval administrators/delegates to a meeting in Turku to work out naval plans.
- Finland has been closed off from the outside world for too long. Finland’s economy requires more manpower, which is why Finland will now be easing passage into the country, allowing in more tourists and immigrants than ever before. Though there may be some concern, public reassurance will be instated, pointing out how Finland has one of the most integrated cultures in the world, and will not succumb to cultural diffusion.
External Affairs:
- Acquire a license for the M1911 for production and/or R&D.
Economic Affairs:
- Invest in Outokumpu Oyj and Rautaruukki Oyj to develop the steel industry even further. The increased production of quality of life steel products will be not only sold in Finland but globally in export.
- Start the construction of a new shipyard in Helsinki named Harakka.
- Start the industrialization of coast towns, constructing docks and ports in Katka, Helsinki, Turku, Pori, Vaasa, and Oulu. Invite foreign investors to support the development of these docks and ports, allowing these foreign investors to use a portion of these docks and ports for their own business use with the Finnish government taking a small cut of the profits.

Internal Affairs: Chancellor Erhard is to give a speech in Bonn, on recent events and changing political climates: "My fellow citizens, comrades, the world is changing and our Republic must change with it. Germany has risen from the ashes of a battered and broken nation. A nation whose honor was soiled by those who proclaimed themselves our leaders. We have cast off the chains of those wicked men and built a new Germany. But now we stand on the brink of another catastrophe. This time not one of our own making. The President of the United States in his most recent speech, has pledged the return of American imperialism to the new world. It is my greatest fear that we will no longer be able to rely on the United States for our national security. The Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact puppets become increasingly aggressive and Germany finds itself on the front line. Germany is the line in the sand. We will steal ourselves to the task at hand and say in one voice "this far! No further!". We will look tyranny in the eye and it will blink first. Our European allies look to us to form that thin barrier between freedom and oppression. Our brave defenders of the Bundeswehr are prepared to do their part not just for Germany, but all liberty loving people everywhere. But more must be done. We must be able to hold the line at any cost. For the cost of failure is too great. To that end I have proposed to Parliament, a measure increasing the size and capability of our defense forces. This is a necessary step to ensure the safety of all of Europe. In company with our brave allies, we will hold back the iron curtain. We will prevent it from falling upon the west as it did the east. To those allies who stand with us, I assure you, the resolve of the German people, has never been stronger. We of course will continue to pursue all avenues of diplomacy. We will maintain the peace for as long as we can. But if our efforts fail, if the unthinkable should happen, we must be ready to do our part and we will, through blood and iron."
