Issue Air Ministry Specification F.5/34 for a single seat monoplane fighter; it is a priority specification, taking precedence over existing contracts (no fines will be issued for delays caused to meet this specification). As such, prototypes are expecting at Martlesham Heath for evaluation no latter than the end of 1935
Issue Air Ministry Specification O.27 for a Hawker Nimrod & Osprey replacement; however unlike the historical specification, this will be exclusively for dive bombing; forward firing machine gun numbers is to be reduced to 2 (1 is also acceptable). Aerodynamics are to be optimised.
Begin modifying existing designs for use with the newly acquired Browning Mk II MG in place of Lewis & Vickers MGs currently being used. In the case of single mounted traversing guns, the Vickers Gas Operated should be used instead.
