TURN 3/ YR 2416
Imperial Sun Clan
Turn Action ResultsFirst two vessels complete Turn 6, third vessel complete Turn 7.
Projected completion of the shipyard on Turn 7.
This is a development, but I’ll start it now. Please put this in Developments next turn; no significant advances made in the project.
The academy will be completed by Turn 5. Enrollments are already full.
A system of 12 space stations, orbiting at specific angles so that most of Boyan airspace is covered, is to be completed by Turn 5.
Next phase of training is begun.
Assignment complete.
One uninhabitable system with significant resources detected* and eight uninhabitable systems without significant resources are found.
Yokai-Class design complete by Turn 5
Rising Sun Prototype complete by Turn 7
Operation Joker, successful. Deal accepted.
Nation EventsCapitalism grows unbridled. The ISC has surpassed the Merchant Republic of Hailil in economic growth, thereby becoming the largest financially growing nation in the human galaxy. This has been the result of very little labor condition regulations, which has caused a stir amongst many of the working class.
Vadian Empire
Turn Action ResultsAll refits are completed by Turn 4.
The claim on the two galactic western systems** are not contested, and both submit to Vadian rule. However the one galactic north-eastern of the Vadian empire is contested by the Merchant Republic of Hailil. As a result, the Fifth Squadron of the Merchant Fleet of Hailil is sent to that system***, and turns away your scientific vessel once it arrived.
Since in the turns of the OSF and FSI, they do not answer, your diplomatic missions and trade offers fail.
I see no design for the Jackal type fighter.
Reminder:Turbolasers and Prometheus are developments, not researches.
During Turbolaser development, a mistake was made when testing firing ability of a plasma based weapon, causing a catastrophic explosion. A third of the capital city of Vadia, High Plutonia, is destroyed, causing 413,000 deaths, with injured over 1.1 million. The research facility and all research progress on every research and development was lost. 82 Main Battle Tanks, 69 Artillery Pieces, 87 Infantry Fighting Vehicles, 23 Self Propelled Guns, 120 Logisitics Vehicles, 64 Armored Personnel Carriers, and 854 Power armor suits are lost in nearby military facilities. 212 Power Armor trained soldiers, and 4,697 regular infantry are killed. The Vadian economy is tanked, and protests against military development and expansion erupt across all Vadian worlds. In solidarity with the Vadian loss, the Free Republic of Courel and the Federated Systems of the Galaxy offer material support to aid the Vadian people.
All progress on Prometheus is lost due to the Turbolaser Incident.
Nation EventsA wave of pacifism ignites across the nation in light of the High Plutonium Research Facility Incident of 2416, as tens of thousands of young Vadians take to the streets, condemning military weapons testing.
With the addition of millions of new citizens from the two new member systems that have joined the Vadian Empire, concerns over rights has arised in political forums across the nation. As many freedoms previously enjoyed by the once free citizens now come into question under Vadian authority.
Protectorate
Turn Action ResultsFighter contract complete by Turn 4
Droid Fighter contract complete by Turn 4
Although relations are alleviated, there is still a large cultural and social divide between the space dwellers and the planetary dwellers.
Less than 600 from planetside join the Navy.
The Merchant Republic of Hailil claims two of the tenders, offering to build it for a 47% fee on top of building costs, and the Free Republic of Courel claims the third, and only the third, for a 43% fee on top of the building costs. (these aren’t cheap)
Military academy complete and ready to teach by Turn 4.
How much more extended is the range?
What is a laser lance?
Two different prototypes of the statite will be complete by Turn 4.
Testing is done, the inertial confinement techniques were successful.
After a few months of attempts, one research facility is successful in recreating the high strength material used in the construction of the city ships, being appropriately named Protectorate Steel. However only minute quantities can be created with the current facilities, equipment, and experience.
A small fire breaks out in the research facility through unknown causes, some research is lost.
Open border agreements are made with several nations (FRC, MRH, GM, and FSG) over the trade of ores and manufactured materials. Many trade vessels and companies invade Protectorate space with mercantilism, and even some corporations have started the process to set up locations, industrial facilities, and other buildings/functions planetside in Protectorate space.
Anti-Pirate sweep is done. 14 pirate vessels destroyed, 4 pirate vessels captured (merchant vessels converted) and 1 pirate station destroyed. Only casualty is FS Atsuki being heavily damaged in a confrontation. (if it is heavy damage or higher, it requires to be specifically repaired in your next turn) No planetary assaults are undertaken, as the three other inhabited systems in the area that aren’t controlled by the protectorate have system owned defenses and warships defending the inhabited planetoids, astronomical objects, and manned space stations. Only nearby uninhabitable systems with significant resources or trade values were cleared.
Nation EventsDepression and obesity hit an all time high for city ship dwellers in the Protectorate. This has led to increased immigration from the city ships to inhabited planets as many seek the open skies, green grass, and freedom they had left during the revolutionary war 5 years ago. So far, 2,940 citizens have left the city ships to settle on the planet.
Famine breaks out on Wakayama, leading to large food supply problems. Due to local ordinances, city ships were fed before those on Wakayama, leading to around 834 dead by starvation, and heightened anger with the city ship dwellers. In total around 931 have died because of the famine, so far.
Ecumene
Turn Action ResultsThe galactic northern system of the two**** is easily taken, and no actions are taken against Ecumene forces, however after about two weeks of scouting/patrolling the galactic southern system, an attack squadron of the Free Republic of Courel arrived, claiming the system was under FRC jurisdiction due to Irim Consortium activity in the region. After a few days of very stressful standoff, an Irim Consortium raiding fleet arrived in the system and decimated the Ecumene fleet, and heavily damaged the Courellian fleet. In the confusion, a Ecumene vessel and a Courellian vessel fired upon each other simultaneously, leading to an all out confrontation between the three powers. The entire Ecumene squadron was destroyed, meaning 2 Edom class warships and 1 Earth type Science vessel were destroyed.
Fighter order complete by Turn 5
I don’t see a PM
Massive emigration occurs as communications are reopened. Over 40,230 citizens leave the Ecumene, fearing future government oppression. The very few foreign companies that had locations in Ecumene space, almost all leave. However protests of Ecumene oppression die down, and anti-government activity decreases.
Due to measures taken, opiate deaths drop by 34%, however usage by the population increases by 23% over the year.
However much forced, domestic trade does not increase, as many products and resources are manufactured and mined/farmed in other nations, that aren’t in Ecumene.
Havrock prototype will be complete by turn 6.
A fire broke out in the section of Kursk base used for research on Project Z. All prototypes were heavily damaged or lost, and the only working reactor was destroyed as well. Not only that, but it was later revealed that much of the information concerning Project Z was stolen, but it is uncertain who is at fault. ⅙ of the base was lost in the fire, being pressurized, a whole section had to be shut off or risk blowing up the entire station. Had the system been finished, and emergency protocols and safety systems been fully implemented, less losses may have incurred.
A huge achievement has been made in the shield technology field. The first ever working prototype for energy shielding, it has been applauded as the largest technological development of the decade. However, it is not a final product. It still suffers from very bulky projectors and a gigantic generator to be held within the ship. It draws more power than could be supported by Porter class warships, and is volatile to EMP weapons. More work is still needed before a usable is model ready for mass production.
A shortage of the generator powering the Project J251 shorted out, frying the prototype engine the researchers were working on. Although research was kept, the prototype has to be rebuilt entirely.
Operation Containment begins, as the plans are followed, stability of the structure is of great concern to the contractors. The projected speed will not be accomplished. Because Project Z has been sent back to square 1, no element of the development project has been implemented with Operation Containment.
The stations have been made and the expeditions started. However they started late in the year so only two systems with significant resources***** were detected.
The research station has been completed due to allocation of resources, however the rings will require years to finish, especially without the technology to use them.
Nation EventsAs news of the technological breakthrough gets out into the general public, celebrations are held over the technological superiority held by the Ecumene. Many claiming this will revolutionize warfare, and change the Ecumene’s formerly lower status on the totem pole. However this news also spreads to enemies of the Ecumene state, pirates, and corporations who would seek to profit from the advancement.
Drug culture spreads across the Ecumene, with a reported 36% of the Ecumene adults using them. However with recent legislations, it has become an industry of profit, ripe with growth as most opiates are banned entirely across human space except at the Georgetown Minarchy. Profits could be immense.
Free Stellar Imperium
Turn Action Results2 Earth type Troop Transports complete by Turn 4
40 Earth Type APCs complete by Turn 4
All 5,000 are recruited by Turn 4
The FSG accept your offer.
Massive federal databanks are set up, at a high cost. Millions of terabytes are now stored on a semi-daily basis.
The expeditions go galactic eastward. (please specify next time) Several non-significant systems are found, four systems with significant resources are detected******, however no inhabitable systems are found nor any spacial anomalies.
A new type of FTL engine/reactor has been created under the purview of Imperium scientists. It is 27% more fuel efficient than previous models, almost revolutionary in its accomplishment.
No significant advancements are made in shield technology.
Nation EventsAs knowledge of this fuel efficient FTL drive reaches every reach of the known galaxy, major corporations and local companies dealing in interstellar trade, shipbuilding, and independent shipping and colonial transportation have been popping up in FSI space, bringing in billions worth of your local currency in to the FSI economy.
Calls for the invasion of the recently maimed Vadian Empire reaches across the Imperium. Nationalism is on the rise, and the sight of neighbors accomplishing Imperial ambitions have only heightened the calls for war.
Osean Federation
Turn Action ResultsThe Kingdom of Wellington accepts your negotiation offer, and enters talks with your diplomats. (We’ll cover this in PM)
Your nation’s ideas are widely accepted, and taken in part in the major debate over the international commerce. (Will be concluded in International Event)
The people of Voyage and Rigel III are welcomed into the nation, and their inhabited planetoids, pre-set regions, and administrative systems are entered into the Federation. Although the transition isn’t totally clean, the process is going well.
Voyage: Scientific Surveys have determined, that beyond lumber projects, and Keppler Carbon Farming, there are hardly any other resources of immense enough value (AKA worth spending millions building government infrastructure to extract the resources) to extract on the planet of El Hernandez. The planet is very swampy, filled with lakes, bogs, rivers, and forests. There is hardly any arable land, making it a poor choice for a farm world. The humidity is extremely high across the planet. Most settlements are spread out over a ten by ten kilometer perimeter, with Keppler Carbon algae collectors spread between small buildings built above the water using supports. Only one conventional city(New Havana) exists, usually to coordinate the resources from the extracting plants to space in its only spaceport. They only have 2 Porter class vessels, (From this point, all are Earth type unless noted otherwise) 25 MBTs, 120 Artillery Pieces, 85 APCs, 46 IFVs, 127 Voyage-Type Transport Hovercraft, and 42 Voyage-Type Attack Hovercraft. Their army is 9,500 strong.
Rigel III: Scientific Surveys have determined that very few ores or other non-biological resources are present on S’wihala. It is a paradise for farming, natural beauty(tourism), and exotic dishes known only to originate from the planet’s lush jungles. However there is one major import that is strikingly different from the rest of S’wihala’s, spices. S’wihala’s arrangement of natural spices is only bested by Earth and Rigel Prime, having a few in common with each, and some unique only to the planet. As such, spice mining is the third largest in the system, closely behind Uranium mining. However spice mining ravages natural landscapes, which is not popular with the locals. The planet is covered in forests, jungles, and plains, with many rivers. There are three main continents, and it has two polar ice caps. There are no serious deserts nor is there any heavy mountainous terrain, but there are dry patches and very hilly biomes. There are several ‘almost’ planets and loose moons that inhabit the Rigel III system, four of which contain Uranium. It is believed they are four fragments of a former planet, but what matters now is that all four of them have no atmospheres and mining is extremely dangerous due to constant collisions, meteorite showers, and high solar radiation. On the planet proper, There are only two major cities(Kingozi, Uga) which operate as a trade center, and resort capital respectively. Around 2/3s of the population live rurally, the majority of which in agriculture. They have 1 Exeter class Warship, 20 Earth Type Fighters, (earth type unless stated otherwise) 40 MBTs, 90 APCs, 73 IFVs, 103 Transports, 210 Artillery Pieces, 4 S’wihala Mobile ICBM Launch Platforms, and 34 60 Megaton Warhead ICBMs. They have an army of 23,000.
The first year of surveying has detected no resources not previously found.
Three Areas of Survey in the Alpha System:
Inhab Planetoid Alpha(3rd planet): Beyond the average minerals, no resources of great value were found on this planet after intensive surveys and geological testing. The planet is very temperate and has several biomes, including deserts, plains, wetlands, tundras, and even mountainous regions. However there are no ‘hard’ flora, and most plants do not rise above 3 meters tall.(It seems there was scanner interference, and the plantlife was mistaken for fully grown forests) Most animals are amphibians and fish, with a median size of 20 centimeters. The land is very arable, and contains over two thousand unique species of mushroom, 2/3s of which are edible. Reports have detected an algae strain that is a cousin of Keppler Carbon, and experiments are being done to see if it can replicate the abilities of Keppler Carbon.
Inhab Planetoid Beta(4th planet): The 4th planet is very tropial, with over 93% of the world’s surface covered in water, there is only one continent, surrounded by thousands of archipelagoes. It has no significant ores nor does it contain Keppler Carbon. However, it is abundant with a squid like species that is semi-transparent and docile. It makes up 93% of the planet’s fauna, and comes in over 4,000 different variants, all edible. It has no predator, and therefore has populated into the hundreds of billions. After on-site tests, it was determined that they are great sources of protein and harbor little fatty material, and, in the personal description by one of the marines attached to the scientific expedition, taste ‘damned good.’ Like the third planet, no plants reach above 3 meters in height.
Uninhab System Alpha: The system is very ‘crowded’, with 18 planets, and 16 dwarf planets, there is hardly ever time for a ship ‘not’ to explore. Throughout the year, only 6 planets, and 2 dwarf planets were scouted, surveyed, and examined. The first gas giant, which indeed has Tylium within its atmosphere, even the correct ion for extraction. Two of the ice giants, each having no significance, and 3 of the other terrestrials, nothing special found. The first dwarf was an average terrestrial, but the second held, beneath its surface, an undetectable element. Some have claimed it is an error, others that this is a new element, regardless, they only detected it, and did not examine it.
Exploration started last year continues, the remaining 44% outlined is explored. Another nine uninhabitable systems of no significance are found and one uninhabitable system with resources of significance is found*******. The lost Porter vessel is never found, and no further losses were incurred.
Repairs are started, all will be completely repaired by Turn 4.
Repairs and refits will be complete by Turn 4.
Refits will be complete by Turn 4. Final design will be able to hold 18 Fighters. However, it loses all Archer missile pods to accommodate with the launch tubes, and take over the missile storage.
Both Porters’ construction will be complete by Turn 5
All suits will be complete by Turn 4.
(Just because you have a prototype, doesn’t mean the development is done, but technically you don’t have too(Since the prototype could still work when tested, meaning the development is finished))
No major developments on Project X
Prototype complete by Turn 5.
Nation EventsThe deficit continues to grow, but the Federation’s congressional branch still has not determined a proper solution to close it. It has had no adverse effects on your economy.
Immigration grows, and so does xenophobic tendencies. As the year drew on, more cases broke out of discrimination against non-Osean natives.
A pride in exploration has broken out, with many in the population expressing their interests in a purely exploration focused branch of the Federation military. Colonialism fever has also broken out, as colony companies are popping around the OSF, in preparation for the new unknown system to be opened to civilian colonists.
Republic of Sarnoth
Turn Action ResultsDrugs are legalized, but use does not rise. Some profit is made, and illegal drug trade diminishes.
Automated mines will be complete by Turn 6. (Name these systems, I’m not going to refer to them as Lima and Mike)
Two systems are claimed********, however one of the systems claimed is under occupation by an unrecognized nation that calls itself the Protectorate. Its territory is not internationally supported however, making the territory, technically, open. The first system, after diplomatic exchange, joined the Republic. However the system under Protectorate was not so open, and claimed any claim was false, and that the Protectorate would defend itself against any armed attack. The admiral in charge of the First Expeditionary Fleet (The ships you described) decided against military action and retreated back to Sarnoth space.
Hyena Prototype complete by Turn 5
Balktoid Armor Workshop is formed, and a research center is being built.
Design complete by Turn 9, however Sarnoth does not have the facilities to build this(Only one place has them), and without advanced experience in large shipbuilding (Of which is only found on TWO planets) there could be design flaws.
Nation EventsAn abnormal flu breaks out on Sarnoth itself. People between the ages of 10 and 65 experience short term fevers and continue on, however those not within that age bracket suffer more and some have even died. What is abnormal about this flu is its stubbornness in leaving, despite flu season ending and two vaccines being made, the flue is not disappearing.
International EventsAfter much debating and consideration, the nations of the FSG, FRC, MRH, and OSF have agreed and founded a new international commerce system. Based on Sol, due to its relative peacefulness, this system of economics connects all nations economically via a company stock exchange, commodity and resource exchange, international currency exchange, and even a universal currency for use by traders, companies, and governments for international purchases. Alongside the commerce system, an organization known as the Galactic Regulating Agency is created as a side-division of the exchange, to ensure that no company, merchant, or nation abuses or uses the system. Their jurisdiction reaches in every nation that uses the commerce system, but only as far as economic matters. The founding nations have decided that people can be hired from anywhere to work in the commerce system, but high positions such as Exchange Overseer, Assistan Exchange Overseer, Agency Director, and more, will be voted upon by all member nations equally, and should hold a diversity of nationalities. Two nations, the FSG and MRH have decided to adopt the universal currency, the Galactic Cubit, as their national currency. Another two nations, the RSN and GTM, have joined this international commerce system, called the Galactic Exchange, through congressional voting. Companies, independent traders, and economically minded citizens across human space are pushing their nations to join the Galactic Exchange, but some are wary of how an economic crisis in one nation might cause the whole system to go down, or even have their own independent freedom inhibited.
The Courellian War on the Irim Consortium drags on as the Courellians make great territorial gains throughout the year. So far another four star systems have been taken over the year, leading to the total collapse of the Eastern half of the Irim Consortium. These victories do not come without a cost, the FRC lost 1 Carrier, 3 Cruisers, 2 Heavy Warships, 5 Medium Warships, and 14 Light Warships, and an overall 209,328 (Heavy casualties in the last two planetary invasions) dead, and 600,129 non-fatal casualties, with the IC losing an estimated 320,000 dead, estimated 1,600,000 non-fatal casualties, 1 Cruiser lost, 1 Heavy Warship lost, 9 Medium Warships lost, 23 Light Warships lost, and 28 Modified Non-Warships. So far civilian casualties have been an estimated 1,390,000 dead, 3,294,504 non-fatal casualties. However, war fever only builds in FRC as many wish to see the end of the horrific Irim regime, and the Courellians are seen as liberators by the populations they seemingly conquered.
Although always known, right wing populism has now made a large public appearance on Earth as the anniversary of the Great Galactic War passed by, claiming that the FSG had failed Earthers and that humanity would be united under Earth’s flag once more had it not been for the incompetence and inability of the FSG. Many in the protests called for a new government, one that would bring back the glory that Earth once held. They have named their movement Terra Prime, and have started referring to Earth as Terra and Earthers as Terrans. This has left many in the FSG uneasy, and many who live on Mars and the Asteroid belt are concerned. However this movement is hardly a majority, it was surprising how large it was.
System Information
(T) Terrestrial
(GG) Gas Giant
(IG) Ice Giant
*Uninhab System Alpha (Please rename this and keep it recorded somewhere, I WILL NOT)
White Dwarf
5 Planets / 1 Gas Giant, 3 Terrestrial, 1 Ice Giant
Traces of Helium-3 detected on the first moon of the fifth planet(IG)
**Two Systems:
Centauri Prime: Three Yellow Suns, 6 Planets / 2 Gas Giants, 4 Terrestrials.
Second Planet(T) is habitable. Total Pop. 2.2 Billion. Primary Focuses: Trade, Agriculture
The second planet is very temperate, with a large variety of biomes. Over 73% of the landmass can be and has been cultivated for agricultural uses. Many large cities have been constructed.
Washington: Red Giant, 10 Planets / 1 Gas Giant, 7 Terrestrials, 2 Ice Giants.
Fifth Planet(T) and Third Moon of Sixth Planet(GG) are habitable. Total Pop. 1.5 Billion. Primary Focuses: Metal Ores, Manufacturing The Fifth Planet is very mountainous in comparison to the galactic average (Earth). Only 12% of its landmass is arable, however it is latent with various metal ores (Not Centauri Steel, Titanium, or Protectorate Steel) underneath the surface. The Third Moon of the Sixth Planet has no valuable resources, nor does it have much arable land, only enough for self sustainment. Its only purpose is as a retirement colony, resort spot, and general all around warehouse. (Perhaps you should inspect this(This is my one and only hint))
***One System
Alpha Antini: Yellow Sun, 7 Planets / 2 Gas Giants, 4 Terrestrials, 1 Ice Giant.
Third Planet(T) is habitable. Total Pop. 1.9 Billion. Primary Focuses: Trade, Business. The third planet only produces enough food for self sustainment, its main attractions are its several city sized space stations surrounding the planet. These hold various businesses and trade hubs. The surface is carved up by wealthy businessmen’s vast land ownership.
****Two Systems
(North;The one you successfully conquered)
Rigel II: Yellow Sun, 2 Planets / 2 Terrestrial.
First Planet is habitable. Total Pop. 8 Million. Primary Focuses: Centauri Steel
The planet is quite cold. At the equator the high temperatures are around 22 celsius, with the lows at the poles being around -64 celsius. However this planet has the second highest concentration of Centuari Steel in the known galaxy, topped only by Alpha Centauri itself, making mining very profitable.
(South;the one you didn’t successfully conquer)
Volstag: White Dwarf, 5 Planets / 1 Terrestrial, 4 Ice Giants. The only Moon of the Fourth Planet(IG) is habitable. Total Pop. of 1 Million. Primary Focuses: Krypt, Wood. Very temperate planet almost entirely covered in various mutated spruce trees from a scientific experiment gone wrong. They are much larger and grow(and die) much faster than normal spruce trees.

Traces of Centauri Steel detected on Fifth(T) and Sixth(T) Planets.
********Two Systems
Rigel Prime: Yellow Sun, 6 Planets / 1 Gas Giant, 3 Terrestrials, 2 Ice Giants.
Second Planet(T) is habitable. Total Pop. 112 Million. Primary Focuses: Technology
The planet is very average, no significant resources, and only enough arable land to feed its current population. However the satellite network is one of the most extensive in the known galaxy, making it a hot spot for technology and software creation.
(Protectorate System)
Kii: Subgiant Star, 5 Planets / 5 Terrestrials.
Third Planet is habitable. Total pop. 8 Million. (Including City Ships’ population) Primary Focuses: Agriculture, Shipbuilding. The habitable planet of Kii is average. A habitable planet whose main focus is agriculture production. However what makes Kii special is the four city ships that orbit the star. These create some of the highest quality ships in the Eastern Quadrant, however they swear allegiance to an unrecognized nation known as the Protectorate, and are protected by some warships.
