There are advantages and disadvantages to using the max amount for population so I recommend not maxing out in the sign up sheet. Currency: This is just for flair, what your currency is called doesn’t really matter. This is for keeping track of exchange rates later. (Side-note, please don’t be a dick, don’t make it three planets for both systems) Companies: These are what companies, of the big ten, that are in your nation. Obviously, these won’t be the headquarters, but it does mean the company has locations/assets in your nation, meaning you can purchase from them for cheaper, use them for your actions, and basically have boosts when dealing with them because of proximity. You can have a max of three, and if they produce something, then you have to have that as a main export. You can’t have the Artibio Corporation as one of your domestic companies if you don’t produce Keppler Carbon, etcetera. Note: If the moderator determines too many people are taking a certain company, the moderator will not allow you to have a certain company, on the basis of 'its already at a large extent in the nations it is in'. Government Type: A semi-oligarchic parliamentary constitutional republic, Members of the council are elected by the people for a life long position, with the three heads of the council being appointed by council members to serve for live. The 500 Council members are heads of different political parties, castes, and such and control the general affairs of the nation. The 3 heads of council themselves hold higher power and if desire could overturn any council decisions on a whim. In a way the system reflects the old system of Rome to an extent.

Culture: The Ecumene are a very prideful and Militaristic people, religion has slowly faded from the people as the massive advances in science have captivated the youth more and more, though the churches are still popular for tourism. Honor and honesty reign supreme within the Ecumene system, and while it is not law it is seen as extremely disrespectful or even criminal to breach either of the two traits. As for ethnicity at this time the Ecumene are able to distinguish themselves as a rough new unique ethnicity, due to the fact that as time went on due to similar language and distance from old issues any past conflicts began to fade. Though the Ecumene originate specifically from West/Northern Russia, the Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic, and even some from the Caucasus though those groups are rarer. Ecumene architecture is mostly modern with no designs being taken from any older earth civilizations, save for some older buildings or museums, churches, and the sort.
History: The Ecumene started off as Russian/Ukrainian colonists being sent to possibly resource rich areas in their now controlled systems. Colonists discovered a system with planets great for agriculture and production of heavier industries which led to a relatively rapid settlement of a core population, and things progressed relatively slowly for a while till it was discovered that Losa held a large supply of Tylium, which boosted up the Ecumene's importance vastly and led to much more money being put into the small corner of space. After that discovery the region began to prosper greatly and for a while was the largest colony in the far north. This period was known as the Starling period and was marked by technical innovations, prosperity, and wealth. This however would not last as the years dragged on the region became more forgotten and tossed aside in official matters, only being remembered for its vast Tylium reserves.
More recent Ecumene history started 16 years ago when the FSG started to neglect the wellbeing of the people in order to better obtain more resources like the Tylium for their empire. The people started peacefully protesting at first and in the beginning it worked to an extent, the FSG would listen sometimes and fix what issues the people complained about but then later on it would slip exactly how it was before the protests and thus new protests would pop up. This slowly grew a greater dislike of the FSG as everytime the people got what they had petitioned for another issue or restriction popped up. It was a slow process but progressively the FSG began to place harsher and more unreasonable restrictions and laws upon the Ecumene, to the point that protests were often cracked down upon violently. Of course this wasn't the whole FSG, it was primarily the local government which was hungry for more money and power but they represented the majority of FSG rule in Ecumene space and thus the FSG as a whole began to be demonized by the Ecumene people. Then more horrible events happened, such as the day known as the Day of Blood, where a massive protest was happening in the city of Zhrastov, a protest on the level that had never been seen in the colony before with thousands to tens of thousands protesting FSG rule and demanding their own proper government. The protest started off mostly peaceful but soon began rapidly going downhill as the government ordered the end of the protest at once and began to surround and round up everyone they could, hundreds to thousands of women, men, and children were rounded up and beat, tortured, and even dozens died as a result of this. From this even more hate began to grow for the FSG and some rebel groups became more radical, bombing government buildings, assassinating officials, but every time they did so the people only suffered more for it, and even though all of this took place the iron fist of the government managed to keep the region overall stable temporarily. The last straw came when the government gunned down another large protest in Zhrastov, the people were enraged by this and now multiple rebel groups began using these examples as propaganda, demanding the Ecumene unite against this tyranny. This began the Ecumene revolution, which would be a immensely bloody conflict and see a massive number of people on either side die. The Ecumene gathered all equipment they could, raiding military bases, gaining support from defecting military and law enforcement men. Due to all of the mass spread propaganda the Ecumene were able to seize Ghibalb relatively easy seeing as the FSG supporters were a smaller minority and easily overrun in the largest cities. Resistance at first wasn't too bad since the FSG had to mobilize its forces in the region which took long enough that the Ecumene had managed to sieze a few smaller ships and set up a small patrol network around ghibalb. This news worried the FSG as they knew ghibalb held the heaviest industry and was the most important area they would need to defend to keep the empire stocked with Tylium, in the north at least. Thus the FSG decided to take care of the entire rebellions leadership in one fowl swoop that day and bombed the entire city into ruin without even bothering to evacuate it, hoping to scare the population back into obedience and take out a majority of rebel leadership and logistics. The day became known as the “Night of Tears” as over 1.5 million people were killed on that day and following days in Zhrastov, reducing the once grand metropolis from the second largest city of the entire Ecumene into a mass of burning ruins. For hours on end napalm, toxic gases, and explosives were dropped down into the city to ensure that nobody would leave alive. The action did what it was supposed to do and as all major leaders of the rebellion had been trapped in the city and perished, sending the surviving groups into disarray as their command had all but been wiped out. They tried to regroup and reassemble but by this point FSG reinforcements had made planetfall and were pushing back through ghibalb decimating any rebel resistance, similar situations had happened on the other planets and moons just at a lesser extent. Within weeks Pyrea was surrounded and all rebel hope was quickly disappearing, and they surrendered, those that didn't went into hiding and tried to revive their groups in secret, but those that did surrender were publicly executed to make an example, in the FSG's eyes, order had been restored to Ecumene space. Following this was a period of oppression and mistreatment, while the Ecumene slowly rebuilt and began regathering their forces in secret for another rebellion they tried to ensure they would win this time by planting more members inside of government instillations and having multiple command posts across every inhabited system in Ecumene space to prevent the disasters of last time. Preparations went largely unnoticed and all that was needed was a spark to restart the revolution. This spark came when a series of economic downturns had caused a large dissatisfaction with the government and protests began to arise again. Vladmir Andrich, leader of one of the better organized rebel groups began to pull the other large groups together and assigning them to their command posts, preparing for full scale rebellion. With the help of Mykyta Shapoval the now united Ecumene Liberation Front had acquired a sizable stockpile of military equipment and even ships to make a small space flotilla, this would be needed as while parts of the ELF were well trained a sizable portion was still freshly recruited militias. In the end however it wouldn't matter too much as the experienced FSG forces had been pulled back from Ecumene space to deal with other rebellions so it was a mass of untrained soldiers against eachother. On February 2nd, 2374 the new revolution began in force. ELF forces swarmed every city and major port they could, catching the more inexperienced FSG horribly off guard, Threshold fell within 3 months and Onyx/Edom within the end of the year. Ghibalb and Anzahx on the other hand were more complicated because once the FSG had regathered they focused on these planets and began to push back, though the collapse of the FSG on Threshold, Onyx, and Edom allowed the ELF to transport supplies and materials to the planets in need. The FSG naval forces did try to stop the flow of supplies but routes were moved and when caught the FSG forces often were in small groups and could be overwhelmed by the ELF flotilla, which grew as they began capturing more ships and finishing hulls of their own. By mid 2375 Ghibalb was entirely in Ecumene hands and Anzahx's defenses were starting to crumble. By this point the ELF had captured most of the FSG equipment in the region and the FSG were outnumbered and under equipped. As the end of the year rolled around and 2376 began the ELF had nearly pushed out all remaining FSG forces and for the first time in a few years peace began to return to the realm, as ELF forces switched from moving across demolishing large FSG groups to destroying small holdouts, by the end of 2376 and beginning of 2377 the Centauri Accords were signed, giving the Ecumene full independence, many of the former ELF leaders took up government positions and have focused on building up the freshly born nation from the ruins of war.

Nation: Osean Federation Government: One-Party Parliamentary Democracy The Osean Federation is a one party state where all other parties are outlawed. The ruling political party is known as the Citizens Party. In the Osean Federation, only citizens have the right to vote as well as hold public office. Citizenship is only guaranteed to those who have performed Federal Service. Civilians are guaranteed certain rights as well underlined within the constitution but are unable to vote or hold public office. The Parliament of the Osean Federation is divided into an upper and a lower house. Members of the lower house are voted in by citizens of the Osean Federation. The upper house is made up of members appointed to their positions by the ruling council which is also the executive authority within the Osean government. Members of the lower house are appointed for 6 year terms while the upper house are appointed for 10 year terms. Members of the ruling council are appointed for life or until they choose to retire. The current 11 members of the ruling council are the founding members of the Citizens Party as well as the main architects of the government. Once a seat becomes vacant, a new council member is appointed by the Upper house. Legislation introduced by either the upper or lower house must be approved by the other before being signed into law by the ruling council. Further details will be located within the constitution of the Osean Federation

Culture: The culture of the Osean Federation is extremely varied. Primarily hailing from Northern Europe, multiple colonies were established across the planet by the FSG, mostly from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. There was also a small colony established by Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian settlers. Over time, these colonies grew and were eventually joined into a single colony under FSG administration. As a result, Osea has been a mixing pot of European cultures. Although, Britain and Germany remain the dominant influences. The architecture of most Osean cities is extremely modern in design. Most buildings draw inspiration from high rise buildings that were common in the early 21st century. However, the Osean government sector uses a combination of Corinthian architecture and old English. The Parliament building draws much inspiration from the Palace of Westminster. The dominant religion within Osea is Christianity with various Protestant denominations making up roughly 45% of the total religious population. Another forty percent are catholic. The rest of the population are reported as 10% Jewish, 4 Percent Muslim and 1 percent Atheist/Agnostic. Most of the Muslim population are of French/Algerian descent. The colonies that currently make up the Osean Federation were once at the frontier of known space. As a result, they have a long history of scientific research and exploration. Something most of the people within the Osean Federation take a great deal of pride in. One of the first ships to travel into the unexplored regions was an FSG science vessel crewed primarily by people hailing from the Osean colonies. The national sport of the Osean Federation is Rugby. Hockey has also become a popular team sport. Combative sports like boxing and fencing have also gained in popularity. Osea has also gained a significant gun culture. This mostly stems from the fact that Osea as a planet is habitable with many alien animal species. The original settlers relied on fire-arms for personal safety and this has survived over the last hundred years.
History:
The history of the Osean Federation actually dates back to the early days of FSG expansion and colonization. Osea was discovered to be an Earthlike planet just before the founding of the FSG. As a result, early colonization initiatives made Osea a top priority. The first colony ship was launched from earth with most of the inhabitants hailing from the British Isles, mostly England. This colony touched down on the South Eastern shore of Osea's largest continent. This colony was followed up by a joint Ango-French colony ship which touched down on the West Coast of the same continent. A 3rd colony ship carrying mostly people of Germanic descent landed in the northern region of the central continent. The final colony ship carrying Eastern European settlers, mostly Russian and Ukrainian landed on the Usean continent to the East of the main central continent. These four colonies were initially governed as independent from one another. There was significant development in each colony with the British and French colonies developing the fastest. These two colonies eventually merged into one large entity. Soon after it was decided that merge the administration into one large planetary colony. This was mainly done to encourage joint development of the colony. This joint colony also saw an increased FSG presence on the planet with a small battle group being stationed near the planet. This resulted in a support facility being constructed in the planets orbit to facilitate maintenance of the FSG warships. As the colony grew, it's productive output also increased with vast quantities of Titanium alloy being extracted and shipped back to earth. Large quantities of Tylium and metal alloys used in the production of Centauri Steel were also found within the solar system. This made Osea attractive to mining companies which flocked to the system. This influx of mining companies made the colonies relatively rich. With a great deal of wealth flooding into the system, the colonies expanded greatly. New orbital facilities including 2 orbital elevators were constructed. Planet side expansion saw a dramatic increase in rail roads with hyper fast bullet trains transporting people from their homes to their work areas within minutes. This period of prosperity lasted for decades as Osea became an economic hub for resources as well as trade. With many new trade routes running through Osea as the FSG expanded into the Western galactic regions. However, this prosperity would not last forever.
As the FSG expanded, so did its power. The amount of control the FSG colonial administration exercised over the colonies was continuously expanded with the Colonial Administration Authority (CAA) being granted near dictatorial powers over the colonies. This culminated in all the colonies being stripped of their representation within the FSG government and full authority granted to the CAA over all colonial matters. This in turn resulted in the CAA imposing a series of tarrifs and taxes on Minbe system with all trade ships being required to pay a fee for passing through the area. Taxes were also raised on all goods and services produced in system. This resulted in a number of public protest which were violently dealt with by the CAA. This resulted in even more tension between the colonies and the FSG. As a result, the CAA formed the Colonial Military Administration which established an FSG military force specifically used for policing the colonies. FSG warships began enforcing colonial rule within the Minbe system stopping merchant ships. The CAA gave the CMA free reign over how it enforced the laws. As a result, corruption became rampant with merchants being forced to pay "protection" fees to some of the warships carrying out stop and searches. Things came to a head when one ship refused a halt order and was destroyed. The people of Osea were outraged. This prompted a planet wide shutdown of all Titanium extraction facilities. When the largest of these refused a CAA order to reopen, the workers staged a sit in. The CMA responded with soldiers who broke into the factory and began attacking protesters. The protesters responded by throwing equipment at the soldiers. The protesters picked up piping and begun using it as clubs attacking the soldiers. The soldiers outnumbered, began to panic and fired their rifles into the crowed. The soldiers then retreated from the complex. This incident resulted in a dozen people killed and dozens more injured. The news of the massacre incensed the entire population with even the most staunch FSG loyalist question the conduct of the soldiers. Protest were carried out in the city of Farbanti. The CAA responded with trooper contingents to clear the streets. Using armored vehicles with fire hoses, the troopers cleared the streets block by block before the protesters were finally dispersed. Hundreds were injured during the clearing process including a number of people who were attacked inside of their own homes by CAA soldiers. The Farbanti peoples militia responded by attacking a CMA barracks killing or capturing every soldier inside. The CMA responded with a full military crack down of Farbanti but was met with staunch resistance planet wide. CMA soldiers and even civilian personnel found themselves attacked in the streets. In one battle neat San Salvacion, an entire CMA battalion was ambushed by local militia and were forced to retreat. Over stretched and about to be over run, the CMA retreated back to Orilla, the then administrative capital of the planet. It was around this time that prominent leaders within the Osean resistancemovement met in San Salvacion and formed a provisional governing council. The council sent a plea to the FSG government begging for their assistance. The FSG however responded by deploying a Fleet of warships and accompanying ground forces to Osea to reinforce its CAA forces on the ground. The provisional council responded by holding a planet wide referendum. Should Osea submit to the FSG or declare its independence? The answer was decided a week later. With the vast majority voting for Independence. The provisional council responded to the vote by forming itself into a provisional government. Its first official act being to make a declaration of Independence. It followed this up by officially adopting the local militia forces into a formal Army. The few ships the Osean's had were quickly armed and converted into Merchant warships. Factories were re-opened and the Osean's began producing tanks, aircraft.
Of course, the FSG was night silent during all of this. During the initial months of the war, the now reinforced FSG forces made a large push out from Orilla breaking the seige and forcing the Osean Army back towards San Salvacion. At the same time the FSG landed near Farbanti quickly overrunning the local garrison and capturing the largest city on the Usean continent. The FSG had total air superiority using its ships and aircraft to devastate entire regions on the planet. The FSG campaign forced the Osean's to resort to Guerrilla warfare. A key turning point in the war actually came when the neighboring system of Gubri also declared independence. This coincided with ever expanding civil war being fought with the FSG across its empire. Gubri which was home of the Gracemaria Fleet Shipyards, was able to secure a number of warships from the shipyards. The FSG fleet over Osea now spread thin found itself being attacked by a combined Osean/Gubri Fleet. This enbabled the Osean ground forces to laugh a major counter attack against the FSG Army forces. Farbanti was placed under siege and surrendered 2 weeks later. The remaining FSG forces retreated to Orilla and began to evacuate the planet. With their defenses in ruins, the FSG Navy did the unthinkable. They deployed nuclear ordinance on Osean soil. Three fusion bombs landed just outside Orilla. The resulting blast destroyed the city killing tens of thousands, mostly Osean military forces. The FSG fleet also launched a barrage of missiles at the orbital elevator and dry-docks in orbit causing minor damage. The Fleet then retreated never to return to Osean Space again.
The Victory was bitter sweet for the Osean Forces. They had successfully driven the FSG off the planet and out of the system but many lives were lost, much of Osea's infrastructure was damaged and the crown jewel of the Osea had been destroyed. Joined now by the planet Reach located within the Gubri system, the two government agreed to establish a union. Representatives from both met in San Salvacion and drafted a new constitution for the new nation. Pledging to rebuild what they had lost, a new city close to the ruins of Orilla began taking shape. Named Oured, this would be the site of the Osean Federation Capital. That was 15 years ago. Now with the signing of the Centauri Accords, war between the Osean Federation and FSG has officially ended.

In the end, a perfect storm of funding and international enthusiasm for a lasting peace, saw the entirety of the planet which would become Imazighen transferred to a "Provisional Government for the Berber People". It was utterly inadequate to the task. While sharing a similar cultural background, the Berber people are as a consequence of their environment quite fractious, strewn across seven distinct but related languages, generally tribally organized with caste systems of varying formality among some of the tribes. By the time these realities had shown themselves to the nascent FSG the most "problematic" (the ambitious, hot-headed, adventurous, and wealthy) third (12M) or so of the Berber populations, and particularly the Tuareg were on an alien desert world and they called it peace. The initial mission for the colonization of Imazighen having been deemed "complete" and the planet itself being of little worth, the FSG turned it's attention largely to it's more profitable ventures and colonizing more exciting planets while leaving the sorting out of local affairs to the locals. It would take a decade of low level conflict, earnest negotiation and sporadic trade, all while adjusting to a new (if in some ways familiar) world before a truly stable arrangement resembling a government came to into being. The People of the Federation of New Columbia can trace their heritage back primarily to the United States of America, and all of the cultural diversity therein. The colony was settled by an American aerospace coalition, consisting both of the descendants of the governmental space agencies of the old United States of America and of the major private space companies. The cooperation of these nations to produce the great interstellar colony ship that bore the first New Columbians to their home was deemed a major achievement, and the fledgling FSG was certainly happy to have the help. When they arrived in Sinmore, they lighted down on the major planet, dubbed Columbia in honor of the old symbol of American expansionism and righteousness. As Helium extraction began along with asteroid mining within the interplanetary reaches of Sinmore, an export economy quickly developed. As the first settlements became more and more developed, the colony’s Board of Administration, the administrators who worked under the CAA to rule the colony, put more and more focus on the colony’s industrial sector, using profits from Helium exports to develop a booming industry for the colony, which quickly went from heavily importing heavy machinery from Sol and Alpha-Centauri to exporting their excesses back to their homeland. This and the still-burgeoning Helium trade made the Columbian colony a prosperous one. As the decades dragged on, however, the heavy-handedness of the CAA became more present. The Columbians, their American and Corporate roots still very prominant in their society, were as angered as any. When the CMA began sending forces to keep the Columbians down, opposition groups began to form. The largest of these, the Brotherhood of Liberty, began organizing mass demonstrations against the FSG. These demonstrations were largely peaceful, and ignored by the CAA and the FSG as a whole, with CMA troops shadowing protests omniously, weapons at hand. Small gun battles began to occur in Helios, rumors spread that CMA troops were moving in to assassinate key Brotherhood personnel, only to be foiled by bands of loyal, armed followers. The first serious act of revolution occurred after the CAA announced that all Helium extraction in the Sinmore system was to be nationalized. Days later, the FSG-licensed supertanker the Golden Princess was boarded by Brothers of Liberty who planted charges on the ship’s primary tanks, spilling Helium into the void of space in such qualities that parts of Columbia’s skies were temporarily discolored. After the Golden Princess attack, CMA soldiers were sent en masee to the small town of Revere, some fifty miles out of Helios, to arrest those responsible and seize arms belonging to the Brotherhood of Liberty. They were met by the Columbian People’s Militia, a force raised out of the pocket of the Brotherhood and trained by Columbian veterans of the FSG’s own military. The CMA was unprepared to meet determined resistance, and were forced to fall back under withering fire, harassed all the way back to Helios by Columbian forces that stuck too close to the FSG column for supporting fire like artillery and air power to be effective. At the gates of Helios they were met by the citizenry in arms, and between the two forces they were crushed. After the initial defeat of the CAM in Helios, the leaders of the Brotherhood of Liberty and other similar cells came together and as one declared an independent Federation of Columbia. The FSG refused to acknowledge them as legitimate and determined to prosecute war against them as they had against every rebellious colony. However, the resources of the new Columbian Federation secured them an ace in the hole. The FSGN Fleet in Sinmore had moved to an orbital bombardment stance over Columbia, confident in their void superiority and ready to use strike craft and secondary battery fire to provide bombardment support to forces now under assault all over the planet. Suddenly, their DRADIS lit up with small contacts. Sabres were launched to intercept, but many of them did not make it off Gateway’s flight deck, sabotaged by crew loyal to the Columbians. Those that did manage to sortie found themselves facing off against craft identicle to their own. The Columbians had, through backchannel means, purchased a large amount of F-304s. Some had been equipped with nuclear weapons. The Sabres on CAP were overpowered, and hits quickly began to come in. Most of the FSG’s fleet was annihilated, including the fleet’s flagship, the only Jannissary in the system. At the same time, Gateway was seized in the debut combat action of the Columbian Marine Corps. The remaining System Garrison capitulated. With their Fleet in Columbian hands, and facing overwhelming assault on all sides, Federal troops on the planet capitulated, securing a Columbian victory. The new Federation’s leadership met to draft a new government document, replacing the Columbian charter with the new Columbian Constitution, leading to the birth of the modern Columbian Government. Culture: Composed primarily of Chinese and Japanese Earth descendants, the Akai Hana Empire houses Indonesian and Taiwanese minorities as well. Most people tend to live where their respective families settled when they first entered the system (creating paradoxes like the Taiko moon possessing a larger population than the planet it orbits, being chosen for it as the celestial object that holds the Imperial capital's city) creating densely populated cities not too far away from each other, and leaving great areas of land nearly uninhabited. The Atarashi Station, as well, had to undergo several expansions to upgrade it from the simpler ''worker's barracks'' it began as, currently holding up to 20 million people on it.
The current head of State, -rebellion finally over- looks for ways to culturally and economically develop the country, relishing on it's people's shared history, and organizing music and art festivals as often as they can afford to. The habitants of the colony are greatly respectful of their Earth roots and customs, and one could argue are a bit too closed off on their views of the rest of the universe. Even if they're trying to slowly detach from a militaristic past, the people of the Red Blossom Empire are not shy to take up arms once again if the time calls for it.
History: Following the end of the Belt Wars, Japan and China sent several colonizing and labour envoys out of Sol. It took them two years to realise the other had been working on one of the same asteroid belts that they had found, and settled in. Both countries claimed to have begun work there first, which just got worse when they found Indonesian workers on one of the opposite far sides of the belt. The situation would have escalated for the worst have the Federation not intervened in time. More begrudgingly than they would like to admit, the affected countries agreed on a peace treaty. Over the decades, and sometimes out of a pure sense of convenience, the inhabitants of the systems found a shared common ground on their work, leading to coexistence being nearly quaint.
Matters began spiraling down when Tylium became scarce. Asteroid belts are mined for many useful components, but when it became well-known that the main component to achieve jump drive was easily found on them, some countries began a modernized liquid gold hunt. For whatever reason, -be it over mining, a logistics problem, stealing and backhanding, as some will swear happened, or plain bad luck- the amount of Tylium gathered wasn't enough to satisfy the Federation's demands. The sponsoring countries were faced with the possibility of canceling the program altogether, and old prejudices spurred up quickly on Sol. After a short while of sabotage and blaming on the neighboring colony to get as much Federation's favor as they could, and leaving the other in disgrace, as well, it took a cave collapse for the people of the colonies to begin an uprising. Their counterparts in Earth couldn't figure out their own issues, but the colonies refused to leave the only place most of them have ever known for an off-handed promise of a new job, and fought for their independence. Along the way, they began developing a system of government most could agree to, and old quarries were replaced for the need to fight against a common enemy. Afterwards, the Centauri Accords were signed, tensions alleviated, and the people cherished the again newfound peace on the systems.

(WIP) Nation’s Flag/Symbol: Nation’s Name: United States of Libertas Government Type: Constitutional Republic (Two party system) Capital: Warta, Harmonia, Tarkyo Leader(s): President Kermit Wilson Vice President Siraaj al-Hadi Population: 24 million Currency: Dollar Culture: The people inhabiting the planets primarily are those of the United States, making it a very diverse populace of color, culture, and religion . The citizens enjoy their social and economic freedoms, with no restrictions or harsh laws that would restrict anyone to go for their own pursuit of happiness (so long no one is harmed or infringed of their rights). People are allowed the right to bear arms and form small militias to protect themselves and their communities from crime, foreign invasions, and against any tyrannical executions made by the gov't. This was inspired from both the Old constitution of the used to be United States of America, and from the tyrannical actions conducted by the FSG. Citizens are allowed to conduct peaceful protests so long as no physical violence or vandalism are conducted, otherwise the gov't are lawfully allowed to conduct non-lethal force to put them down. Religion is also quite alive in the nation as 42% are Christians, 28% Muslim, 10% Hindu, 8% Buddhist, 6% African Traditionalists, 4% Jewish, and 2% Shinto. History: The planet of Harmonia was colonized during the end of the colonial period, most of those who came to this world are of those from all the U.S. Through it's infancy phase the population enjoyed it's some leeway under the FSG administration. At some point the planet had established a proper govt, it had elements of that of a republic with the exception that most of the higher positions would be occupied by those working directly with the FSG. The rest were ran by those who had experience in politics, laws, or businesses. When the political positions were filled in, it was rather quite obvious that there was a mixture of different ideologies and opinions of what laws and regulations should be passed or put down. Within five years of it's formation of the govt there had been a formation of two political party's to which one side being the left wing Federal Liberty Party, and the right wing Patriotic League. Overall the colony had progressed well over the decade and had kept it's loyalty with the FSG as positive as possible. However as the likelihood of a galactic civil war became more apparent, the colony went on to quickly ensure their support for the FSG by supporting them with shipments of supplies. However things turned for the worse as refugees from neighboring systems who were against the FSG were seeking refugee's seeking Asylum/Sanctuary. The planet of Harmonia seemed like a good candidate as the planet had a reputation of offering relief aids to all with their blue cross organization despite FSG warnings. The two parties went on to go through a heated debate as the Federal Liberty Party were in favor of allowing the refugee's to seek asylum on their planet until the civil war was over. The other side however saw this as a major no go as this would more then likely provoke the FSG. However the decision was split down with some on either side voting in favor of the other side or their own. In the end the population was given the opportunity to vote the case. The result was a landslide of 88% of the population voting to allow the refugee's to take shelter. Thus a temporary place was made for the refugee's to live and be accommodated. This was allowed to do the FSG leader (Marcus Orellio) who was in charge at the time of the overwatch of the colony was sympathetic to those suffering and allowed the vote to proceed. However not long after the decision was made, the FSG sent a strict order to the Orellio that the refugees to be detained and handed to them. He was reluctant, but orders are orders and the detaining began. Many were shocked to hear the sudden change to policy with the refugees. Many were angered that there’s vote had been disregarded, but for the most part it wasn’t the first time that this had happened before. However one small group of activists were fed up and decided to take it to the streets. They were known as the Sunflower party as they were distinguished with wearing at least one piece of clothing colored with yellow. More then 455 citizens participated in the protest to which the event drastically changed from a peaceful protest, to a horrific massacre. The FSG had sent in a small force to disband the protestors, and detain anyone that didn’t disperse. A physical brawl began that escalated to the soldiers opening fire on the protesters. Over 32 were killed and 122 were arrested, the whole planet had a mix feeling with how this was handled. Some understood that what happened only occurred do to how unresponsive and aggressive the protestors were being, they knew what they were getting into. However others disagreed, stating that it was provoked by the soldiers and that the protestors were peaceful until the soldiers began laying their hands on them. Overall the populace seemed split but nonetheless this event would spark the small step to a rebellion. As the civil war progressed on more and more stricter laws and regulations were being put down. Merchants were only allowed to trade with certain planets and stations approved by the FSG, public gatherings of any sort were band, curfews, and etc. This of course brought much discontent amongst the populace and many small rebel organizations began to form. One of them known as the Liberators, consisted some of the political party members, and citizens who were fed up with the strict authoritarian like rule. For months the Liberators have been slowly expanding their numbers and connections in order to be prepped for their rebellion. Alliances/cooperations were made with other rebel groups. Eventually the Liberators began to attack military convoys that carried vital military grade weapons. The attacks varied in success as they most of the Liberators simply had no proper fire arms training, the only ones that did were those who did hunting for a living off the wilderness. Although they were able to acquire some of these military grade weapons, they in returned gained to high casualties in which the result was not worth the effort. So they stayed below the radar, however the few convoy attacks they had conducted. Resulted in the FSG in pushing out an even harsher law in which soldiers/law enforcements were allowed to enter anyone’s home if they suspect these said individuals to be affiliated with the rebels. Stores and shops were also robbed of food and other essential supplies do to neighboring rebel planets harassing the FSG supply lines. This would incetivise more people to join the numerous rebel groups on the planet. And thus previous plans would be relooked and changed. Within the fifth year of the rebellion that was plaguing the galaxy. The Liberators had managed to accumulate enough numbers, stockpiled supplies, and training to which was aided by experienced officers from other planets that came into contact along with defected FSG soldiers/officers who were originally citizens of the planet, were ready to conduct a full on rebellion. On the 24th of December, the Liberators and other rebel groups began stationing their rebel troops near checkpoints and supply depots. As soon as the clock struck midnight, the rebellion started and the FSG was given their first major defeat. Several cities that were in support of the rebels, were taken and some of the FSG supply depots were ransacked and sapped of their resources. Although there had been set backs and defeats at other locations. The FSG were indeed given a good punch and taken by surprise. Thus the great revolution began. Support for the rebels at first were somewhat small, sympathetic as most were. They simply didn’t want to be involved or bring any trouble to themselves or loved ones. However as the rebellion progressed and the FSG became more and more harsh in cracking down on the rebellion, it was hard to not be involved. No one was safe or could avoid this war that was brought on the planet. You were either a supporter of the revolution, or a dirty traitor. That was the reality in most civil wars. Eventually more and more of the populace began to support the cause over time. The tide began to turn after one of the most promising young officers in the FSG in Harmonia decided to defect to the rebels side with classified information. That young man was Captain Morgan terion (age 27), known to be the son of the former head command chief of the FSG planetary command force on Harmonia 8 years ago. Morgan had seen much of the corruption and unhumane treatment that the FSG was conducting, thus he was fed up and turned his back on his duty and former planet to aid the cause. Infiltrating the FSG military HQ, he had managed to retrieve vital information that allowed the Liberators to locate and destroy numerous military supply depots, underground facilities, airfields, and so forth. The young captain was given the rank of major when he joined the cause and show exemplarary skills, motivation to the troops, and of course knowing the very structure and behavior of how the FSG conducted their operations and strategy. The rebellion would go on for another 5 years until finally the FSG had been kicked out of the planet and Harmonia finally was no longer under a tyrannical ruler. I’m between that rebellion, a temporary govt was made in which former politicians and governors were invited to help shape the future of a nation. It was however difficult when they had to postpone or relocate their meetings do to the active rebellion. However when it was over with, the govt finally assembled a convention and debated how their new govt should be made. It was difficult at first given how many had different ideas that were somewhat similar to that of the FSG, but of course no one wanted a similar govt structure to that of the FSG. Morgan who was at this point a Brigadiar General, was invited along with the other high commanding officers to simply hear out the convention. Morgan requested a chime of word and simply stated to “look into the history of your ancestors for answers?” To which he was referring to the once proud United State of America. The suggestion was taken with much appreciation and research on their mother nation was done. The constitution, bill of rights, and Declaration of Independence were all taken and reformed to better fit the more modern society. However some were kept such as the right to bear arms (tho there were specific of course what you can’t own), freedom of speech and religion, separation of state and church, and so on. Within a few weeks the new and improved constitution, bill of rights, and Declaration of Independence was made and an election was underway. Morgan was suggested to run for president but given that he had done his own research. He did not want to partake in any such politics and would instead remain in his current position. After a few attempts to pursued him, they gave up after seeing his stubborn refusal. Thus the election went on with ease. The rebellion was still ongoing across the galaxy, and the newly established United States of Libertas would go on to help support the neighboring countries however they could. And send relief aid to those who need it. After the galactic civil war the nation would go on to rebuild, expand, and further strengrhen their ties to the neighboring nations. However a new president was just elected, seemingly focused on the expansion of the nation and creating stronger republic. Over the decades, this seemingly far off system became a corporate hotspot, and after the war of independence quickly became what is known as the Merchant Republic of Hailil. With the inception of this new nation, new cultures have emerged, although they did have their predecessors in the old FSG states. There is what is considered the “ruling” class, many of whom are large company board members, executive officers, or the family of therin. Then there is the “middle management” class, those who work in or are related to those in middle management positions in either the military, government, or corporations themselves. The Hailil believe in a very complicated form of government. Believing the government plays an important role in running the economy, but should not impede the efforts of private organizations, they have largely combined the two. The government will contract companies to do the vast majority of its functions at subsidized prices, while in return, the government will seek out beneficial trade deals, diplomatic agreements, and even military engagements for companies in Hailil and domestic companies will largely work towards the interest of the MRH. All in the pursuit of a better economy, and therefore more prosperous nation. History: Their history before the independence wars is short and simple. The original FSG settlers came here as part of a program to ensure the diversification of space in relation to the old world ethnicities, religions, and races. The vast majority of settlers were Arabs, Iranians, Kurds, Turks, and other associated ethnicities from the South West Asian region. Many were people living in poverty on Earth, trying to escape the old cyclical lives of their past. Quickly, however, this place became a hotspot for manufacturing, mostly industrial and consumer goods. Work ethics, alongside several successful entrepreneurs and business promoting organizations allowed industry to grow in systems where there was little to no large natural resource deposits. Despite its location far from the center of the human galaxy, Ibn Khalid, the most populous planet of 7730 Pegasi, became the production center for the South-East quadrant of the known galaxy. During the war, 7730 Pegasi, largely stayed out of conflict, until it was learned that the FSG was beginning to lose its control of its interstellar territories, when 7730 Pegasi allied with the peoples of 3475 Galli and Whrlectri in opposing local FSG forces. A secondary incentive for the Hailil were the stringent regulations and tax rates imposed upon private industry by the Federated States of the Galaxy, which they believed limited their power and potential in the old government. When the Hailil formed their new nation, they built it on the principles that created the prosperous colonies in the first place. They created a decentralized government, whose primary purpose is to monitor and intervene in the economy when necessary to benefit the nation. There are three elements of government, the central control, an executive branch chosen by the legislative branch, whose control presides over foreign affairs and law approval. There is the legislative branch, made up of the Hailil assembly, which represents the interests of the various regions and families that are registered as “dynastic”, this meaning that the family controls such wealth and power in the nation that they deserve special registration with the government and their own representation. There is also the corporate council, in which major companies and domestic organizations also provide their influence on the government.
